Personal Model of leadership

In order for a firm to compete favorably in the global market, the first thing it needs to do is to higher effective leaders who will help in steering the goals and interests of the organization. A leader needs to develop some skills so that it can make them successful and effective. As a leader, it is necessary to develop a personal model for leadership that reflects beliefs and values and impacts how I would affect the organization, society, and community. There are basic values that I would consider when coming up with my model. These values include vision, honesty, care and respect. In order to become a prosperous leader, it is necessary for me to have a vision that helps in leading the organization in one direction. This will enable the team members to know exactly what they aim at achieving and thus leading to high productivity. As a leader, I would regularly urge my team to focus on the ultimate vision of the organization so as for witness success. The other value is respect, which I fully embrace it as a leader. I have learned how to value diversity in the workplace and respect the differences of the team members based on religion, gender, personality, culture and their abilities. (Scouller, J. 2011)

The opinion of everyone matters irrespective of their differences and thus contributing a lot to the field of innovation and invention of new ideologies. This has made the members to respect each other and foster unity which is a necessary factor for the organization to achieve its goals. Honesty is another value I embrace as a leader. This requires that I be transparent in everything I do so as to set an example to the team members and make them also practice honesty and thus yielding success to the organization. This value makes me feel proud of myself and gives me confidence in doing anything because I would have nothing to neither hide nor fear. It will eventually lead to the success of the organization. Lastly, the other core value is care. As a leader, I would not only care for the interests of the organization but also for the team members and the society at large. I would make sure that I organize my team to participate in activities that benefit the society, for example, setting apart a day for community service. It will ensure that as the organization soars higher, the welfare of the society also develops. Below is a table that encompasses the values discussed above. (Smith et al, 2013)
