Dr. Keller,

I am writing to seek your permission to conduct applied research at Hampton High School. This research is a requirement for partial fulfillment of my doctoral program at Liberty University. The purpose of my research is to solve the problem of low scores on the Ohio Educational Assessment (OEA) for Science. The central research question is, How can the problem of low scores on the Ohio Educational Assessment for Science be solved at Hampton High School in Ohio? Proposed data collection methods will include interviews with five teachers, a survey of 15 teachers, and an analysis of the documents of the assessment scores on the OEA for Science for the previous three years. I plan to collect data between September and November of this year. Before I am able to conduct this research, I must have a permission letter from the appropriate gatekeeper at the school. I respectfully request you provide me a letter granting permission so I may conduct this research.
