WEEK 2 DISCUSSION
First, in on paragraph, summarize your understanding of the foundation of the CCSS for Math and English Arts.
Looking further into Common Core State standards (CCSS), my understanding of CCSS is that it provides clear and consistent learning goals to help prepare students for careers, college but also real life experiences after high school. It allows expectations that students must demonstrate each grade level to ensure that their learning and support from their teachers and parents. As educators it is essential for us to determine what works and what doesn't to ensure the proper modifications and accommodations are being used in the classroom so all students can academically succeed. It's our job to help all students reach their core standards each year to ensure they move on to the next grade with a significant amount of growth from the previous grade.
Next adopting the perspective of a teacher leader, in at least two paragraphs, evaluate how CCSS can be used to influence the use of technology -enhanced differentiated instructional strategies to support the needs of all learners.
We as educators are being asked to teach students using 21st century teachings. Technology evolves every single day and it's allowing teachers to facilitate learning experiences for our students in ways like none before. Creating evidence -based lesson in Math /English Arts make it more convenient to change and move lessons as needed for the students to grasp what you are teaching. It also helps teachers to teach students in a variety of ways to grow and learn towards reaching their core standards. CCSS provides specific guidelines on what info will be delivered to the students by their teachers based on each student individual needs, (Burnaford & Brown 2014). It's necessary that each student learns differently and have core standards based on their individual needs.
The 21st century teaching also fills any space that would be between, student, parents and the teacher. Information can be shared within all parties face to face with meetings, via phone, and email, which allows all questions and concerns to be be answered. I honestly feel that when we give students access to evidence -based lessons, we allow their minds to expand and let them become thinkers, which will help develop multiple ways of learning. Some technology that are in the classroom today consist of computers, ipads, smart boards, smart calculators. All these innovations allows for learning for the students but also for educators as well.
Finally, in one paragraph, justify why it's important to have purposeful planning of differentiated instructional strategies to promote student learning and provide at least one specific example to support your justification.
The importance of planning differentiated instructional strategies is to promote student learning. It's so essential, which allows students to reach their goals that are set for them in the beginning of the school year. All students learn at different pace, so allowing each student to grasp the lesson different from the next student is important to allow each student to succeed. A great example of differentiated instruction would be small group instruction , which more teachers should use in their classroom environment. Placing students based of learning needs allows the teacher to focus on those students who are struggling, allowing the stronger students to strengthen their independence work habits. Small group instruction allows students to build communication skills which they will need as they further their education and in the workforce.
PART II
The redesign for Week One was very interesting but somewhat confusing, just hope I did what was suppose to get done to receive the best grade regarding this assignment. My passion to teach children and allow them to reach their goals and objectives before moving on to the next grade, is my reward each school year. Regardless of color, race or any specific disability they may have, it's on me to get them prepared for the next grade level. Choosing which assignment to do was stressful, I chose to redesign the lesson plan which needed minor changes so the the lesson could be more entertaining for my students to follow along. I set goals provided about 21st century to ensure the redesign had improvements to allow my students to succeed. My biggest concern regarding the redesigned was making sure the correct 21st learning standards were in place. When understanding your students, knowing their weaknesses and strengthens will allow them to flourish and become great learners beyond what they think they can do.

Part One: First, in one paragraph, summarize your understanding of the foundation of the CCSS for Math and English Arts. Next, adopting the perspective of a teacher leader, in at least two paragraphs, evaluate how CCSS (Math and English Language Arts) can be used to influence the use of technology-enhanced differentiated instructional strategies to support the needs of all learners. Finally, in one paragraph, justify why it is important to have purposeful planning of differentiated instructional strategies to promote student learning and provide at least one specific example to support your justification.
My understanding of the foundation of the CCSS for Math and English arts is that it provides clear and consistent learning goals to help prepare students for success to reach college, career, and life. CCSS shares the expectations that students must demonstrate for each grade level to ensure that their learning and supports are appropriate from parents, as well as teachers (read the standards, n. d.) As teachers, it is up to determine what works and what does not when teaching the students in the classroom. We help these students reach each core standard goal each year during school to ensure they move forward each year to the next grade level.
As we all know technology is a part of almost all standards. Therefore, it is important that teachers be able to find the understanding that is fundamental to how technology is used to scaffold learning and make it essential in delivering the standards effectively and correctly to students. It also helps us to teach the students in ways that will allow them to grow towards reaching their core standard goals. As stated in reading the standards, the standards draw on the most important international model, as well as research and input from numerous sources, including educators from kindergarten through college, assessment developers, professional organizations, parents and students, and members of the public.
Technology has truly come so far since the beginning. Technology has proved in creating evidence-based lessons for Math and English Arts makes it easier to share and change lessons as needed. Also, technology helps us to teach students in ways that will allow them to continue to grow towards reaching their core standards goals. When technology is embedded into lessons different skills can enhance. These enhancements can be in many different forms such as pdfs, a video, or audio recording, or blogs can be reproduced as well. Today teachers have the luxury to use the internet, zoom, and other online tools to teach lessons in the classroom.
It is important to have purposeful planning of differentiated instruction strategies to promote student learning so that we can reach the gifted students and allow them to have a deeper learning experience while at the same time chunking up lessons to support the students with learning disabilities to round out the classroom so that all students are able to learn the lesson being taught. By using purposeful planning can also be trying to empower the students to have control over their lives and let them know even though they are special needs students they can do the same content but in different ways. Establishing the purpose of a lesson, consider what the students will know and are able to do. Establishing a clear purpose for learning content serves as a priming mechanism for new learning and results in increased student understanding of the content (Gagne &: Briggs, 1974; Hunter, 1976; Mager, 1962). Simply put, when students understand the purpose of a lesson, they learn more (Fraser, Walberg, Welch, & Hattie, 1987).
. Part Two: Include a link to your Folio in your initial post along with a one-paragraph reflection about your experience with the redesign for the Week One Assignment in terms of challenges you encountered and how you overcame those challenges. Be sure to include any difficulties you experienced in revising to meet the components of 21st-century student outcomes and 21st-century support systems.
The problem that I had in submitting the assignment into the Folio was trying to figure it out then when I was able to retrieve it was so many pages, but I overcome the challenges. Redesigning the assignment was the hardest thing for me and figuring out how to implement 21st-century ideas into the outcomes. I allow myself to get the most out of the experiences by identifying which skills and abilities are stronger or weaker for me and which one needs to work on, I discover that Folio is one of them. As they said practice makes it better, I hope I will be able to do the process quicker next time.

Annie:
Part One:
First, in one paragraph, summarize your understanding of the foundation of the CCSS for Math and English Arts.
The Common Core Standards for both Math and ELA are clear and consistent learning goals that help prepare students for future careers, college readiness and life after high school. They combine realigned college/ career expectations and high critical thinking skills to establish standard focus concepts that are introduced during the beginning phases of a student’s academic journey.
Next, adopting the perspective of a teacher leader, in at least two paragraphs, evaluate how CCSS (Math and English Language Arts) can be used to influence the use of technology- enhanced differentiated instructional strategies to support the needs of all learners.
Students should be able to integrate and evaluate information presented in diverse media and formats, including visually, qualitatively and orally (Burns, 2015). Educators can utilize technology to implement common core standards in both ELA and Math. By embracing multimedia tools, visual learning materials and other outlets, educators can meet the needs of scholars and keep them actively engaged.
Technology provides scholars with an opportunity to expand their knowledge beyond the traditional learning paradigm, connecting learning content to real world situations and promotes the 21st century skill set. It can be applied in so many different content areas and gives teachers flexibility in planning, the ability to reflect and research teaching strategies and techniques.
Finally, in one paragraph, justify why it is important to have purposeful planning of differentiated instructional strategies to promote student learning and provide at least one specific example to support your justification.
Intentional or purposeful differentiated instruction provides access to learning while targeting their specific needs. Differentiated instruction involves inclusive instruction for scholars who view new knowledge in various viewpoints. As educators, we ask ourselves how we can make this lesson more interesting to students or what approaches could we use to capture their attention. Differentiation in the classroom is not just a plan to construct or provide students with different learning objectives, but provide them with various routes to accomplish essential goals (Tomlinson & Moon, 2013, p.98).

The redesign assignment for week one was a bit challenging at first because the plan I chose had so many different elements that included SMART goals, backward design and maybe a few elements of the 21st century skills set. I decided to revisit and review a few things to accommodate the requirements for this assignment and put my best foot forward. I do believe that any assignment can be reviewed and add more content as we learn even more strategies and techniques to implement and support the 21st century framework.
