I chose Troy Maxson from the play "Fences" being that he is seen as the protagonist.  Mr. Maxson in the play is seen as being a cruel and hard to please character. However, I feel that Troy represents a since of stress and struggle looking for an easy way out of life.  He is also seen as a hardworking man who blames "white people" for everything being that he was not able to fulfill his dreams as a baseball player.  In fact,  in the costume above it shows Maxson sitting on his porch steps after a long day at work, in the play it is shown that he comes home to drink alcohol with his co-worker as his wife gets dinner ready. Troy values hardwork and it is seen that he is a hardworker, who wants his sons to be just that. His sons misunderstand Troy and thinks that Troy is the way he is because he did not make it to be a professional baseball player. However, I would call to disagree being that he just wants what is best for his children, he wants them to not have to depend on anyone including him and be better than their dad. Equally important, his approach to the situation every time he talks to his sons' are misinterpreted due to his tone of voice, in which people consider him bitter and jealous. The pictures that I chose do a great job in portraying Troy Maxson in this play being that he was still fond of baseball even after he was not able to play professionally. He applied the role of baseball to his talks with his sons, coworker and to Rose, his wife so they could be able to understand his logic better.
