SHORT STORY DISSCUSION

After reading the short story, the character I wanted to analyze was Sanjeev. Sanjeev is quite a character indeed, as he is very fond of the opinion of others, especially that of which involve him. He is constantly worried about what people will think of him and his wife Twinkle. Sanjeev and Twinkle are completely different. Sanjeev is the type of person that needs things to be in order and can not have chaos. He is a hard working individual who had to work his way up the ladder and become successful. Sanjeev most likely believes the world needs control so chaos does not take over, as if he is trying to protect the world from people like Twinkle. Maybe he believes he can change the way she is, a childlike adult. Sanjeev is the type of person that is very high strung about minor details. This can be seen by the way he wants all the Christian statues removed from his house, as they do not follow his religion and even how he holds himself. Sanjeev is the type of person to respond to conflict with maturity, but with a lack of self control. This is because he feels he is under a microscope at all times and needs to be as perfect as he can be. If I could summarize Sanjeev in one word it would be etiquette, now it may seem that this word is not the best of choices but he just symbolizes what "proper" etiquette looks like.
