PEERS RESPONSE:

I will demonstrate integrity by continuing to cite all sources that I use to give credit to the authors. It is very important that I do so because I want to avoid plagiarism. Though plagiarism can be unintentional, outsiders may not always know that. Therefore, Using most of my own words will continue to be important as I write papers.

The part of incorporating research that I most struggle with is reference citation. I struggle with the different forms of reference citation such as APA, MLA, and etc. I thought that just writing a website such as www. Google.com was enough to tell where I got my source. I will continue to use bibme.org to help me practice writing in the forms that are needed because they have helped me understand the different ways to write. This is meaningful to my growth as a student and a professional because as a teacher. I should and want to know how to become a stronger writer. I have strong writing skills but knowing how to incorporate different writing styles will make me a stronger writer. Grammarly has also been a big help because they pick up on things that auto-correct doesn’t. The Ashford writing center has also been a huge help when writing papers. They get back to you right away and their suggestions are always helpful.

It’s always important to credit the author(s) sources because it helps readers understand that it’s not your words and you want to give credit to the people from who the words come. Proper use of research will challenge me to become a better writer because it gives support to my own claims. The practice of using outside sources can support my original ideas and aid my development as a student by giving me proof that my ideas are heading in the right direction. It gives me confidence that my thoughts are strong and as I gather the information that I read along with my own ideas, I come out as a stronger writer.
