· SLA Case Study Peer Analysis Assignment

·

· Please correct your partner's whole paper using track changes. Be as thorough as possible with the feedback that you provide to your partner. This is also an opportunity for you to provide clarification if your partner wrote up anything about your SLA that is not accurate or if they left anything out.

·

· Please note that according to the rubric, you must identify a minimum of 10 grammatical errors or exemplary uses of academic English** in your partner's paper, provide a clear explanation of the rule that was violated or exemplified according to Schmidt, and cite the page number in Schmidt where the information can be found. Number each of the "error correction/exemplary uses of academic English" comment boxes for easy identification. Do not number comment boxes that provide general, content, style, formatting, or repeated feedback. The reason for the numbering is to draw my attention to your minimum of 10 grammatical errors and/or examples of sophisticated usage.

·

·

· **For the examples of "proficient academic writing skills", also use comment boxes; number your boxes; and cite theory to indicate why these selections represent proficient academic writing skills. We read some content in Saville-Troike Ch. 6 that talked about academic discourse. You might also cite examples of cleft sentences; correct use of adjective, adverb, and noun clauses; absolute constructions (p. 189); discourse connectors and transition words with appropriate punctuation; or nominalization in discourse according to Schmidt. You could also look at logical arguments, sophisticated paragraph structure (topic sentence, body with examples, and concluding sentence), and paragraph cohesion (one central main idea per paragraph).

·

· Do not cite examples of basic grammar, such as using conjunctions or transition words as evidence of sophisticated usage of the English language!!
