PED 138 – Cardio Variety – Week #2 (3/23/2020) Assignments:

1. Please complete the “Cardio Variety Notes for Quiz #2” (handed out in class, but if you don’t have a copy, it’s attached to this email).

-Please type (12 font, double-spaced) out the questions and answers to the Quiz #2 notes.

-Send me your completed notes as an attachment to an email.

-This assignment is worth 25 points.

-For example, this is what I’d like your assignment to look like (this is just a small sample):

“Blood Pressure:

Resting Blood Pressure:

What is it? Resting blood pressure is your blood pressure while at rest. The average resting blood pressure is 120/80.

What does it mean? Resting blood pressure means it’s the amount of pressure on your arteries when your heart is “at rest” (between beats). The blood isn’t forcibly pumping through your arteries.”

2. Please view and take notes on the beginner Step Aerobics video:

-This assignment is worth 10 points.

-This is a 30-minute video, and while you’re more than welcome to view the entire video, please view the first 15 minutes and take notes on what you observe.

-You are also welcome to take part in the video, even though you may not have a step or bench (she says that you can do this all on the floor, and you can!).

-Please type (12 font, double-spaced) your notes should include:

-What moves you observe (include at least five moves)?

-What are the moves called?

-How does she cue the moves and proper form?

-What makes this a “cardiovascular” workout?

-What is your opinion on this type of workout?

3. Please do at least TWO workouts this week (similar to last week):

-This assignment is worth 10 points (5 points per workout) – Extra 5 points per extra workout that you do, too!

You may choose one of the following (or something similar):

-Walking or Running

-Biking

-Doing an exercise DVD or YouTube exercise video

-Playing an active sport (not e-sports!)

-Please record (for each of your exercise sessions):

-When you did it

-How long you did it for

-How you felt during and after your exercise session

-Please be sure to type this (double-spaced and 12-font).
