PED 138 – Assignment for the Week of 4/27/2020
This week will be the last week of PED 138 assignments! I can almost hear you all cheering from where you are right now.
Last week, you watched three Boot Camp videos, took notes on all three videos, and exercised twice while incorporating two different Boot Camp exercises. With those assignments, hopefully, you have a better idea of what Boot Camp looks like (and feels like!).
1. Create Your Own Boot Camp:
-Please identify your Boot Camp as either indoor or outdoor (The weather is getting better, so I encourage you to create an outdoor Boot Camp!). (1 pt)
-You must include five different exercises (or “stations”) within your Boot Camp. (5 pts)
-Two exercises (or “stations”) must be Cardiovascular in nature (i.e. running, jumping jacks, jump squats, a combination of cardio exercises, etc). (2 pts)
-One exercise (or “station”) must be focused on the Core (i.e. planks, crunches, side planks, washcloth/plate mountain climbers, or a combination of core exercises, etc). (1 pt)
-One exercise (or “station”) must be focused on the Upper Body (i.e. pushups, triceps dips, V-pushups, one-arm pushups, or a combination of upper body exercises, etc). (1 pt)
-One exercise (or “station”) must be focused on the Lower Body (i.e. walking lunges, squats, side squats, or a combination of lower body exercises, etc). (1 pt)
-State whether your exercises/stations are for time or repetitions, and how many sets. (2 pts)
-Your exercises must be thoroughly explained (how to do them, what materials you need (if any), form cues, etc). (5 pts)
-The more creative and detailed you are, the more points you earn, so please use your creativity, and/or find ideas on-line, and/or use the ideas that you saw last week! (0-5 pts)
-Typed, 12-font, and double-spaced. (2 pts)
-Total Points = 20-25 points
2. Create Your Own Video:
-In your video, you will teach and demonstrate ONE of your above exercises/”stations”.
-Introduce yourself. (1 pt)
-State whether your exercise is for indoors or outdoors (or both). (1 pt)
-State the name of the exercise you will teach and demonstrate. (1 pt)
-State whether it’s a Cardio, Core, Lower Body, or Upper Body exercise. (1 pt)
-Thoroughly explain how to do it, show/tell the form cues to do the exercise, and what materials are needed (if applicable). (3 pts)
-State why you think this is an effective exercise and your opinion of it. (2 pts)
-Have a conclusion. (1 pt)
-Total Points = 10 points
