First paragraph: Introduce the career pathway to the reader. Write about why some students

choose this career path. Begin with a quote from a famous person within this career. Introduce

the source before providing the quote. Cite the source immediately after the quote. Write a brief

summary of why that person is famous in regards to his or her career. Cite the summary. Then,

narrow down the content until you can provide an effective thesis statement. The thesis

statement needs to be implicit (open/mysterious). Add an image of the famous person

underneath this first paragraph. Cite the author of the webpage or the title of the webpage (if

there is no author) this image is found on (Google Images > View Webpage). Use the author’s

last name in the citation; if there is no author, use a shortened version of the webpage tile. Do

not use the hyperlink to the website in the citation. For your works cited page, you will most

likely use the formula for a page on a website. See Lectures > Using Sources in Your Writing

for additional assistance.

tab of your SOS account, what specific information is available to students who receive the

this assessment) to continue your career exploration, continue to the Myers & Briggs link

(Course Content > Pathways Exploration) to provide the reader with an understanding of the

personality type. Cite the source (Myers and Briggs). How will people with this personality type

do well in this career? Return to the Do What You Are report and describe the strengths of this

personality. Cite the source (Do What You Are). How will these strengths be beneficial in the

career? Then, describe the potential blindspots of this personality. Cite the source. How can

someone overcome these blindspots before he or she gets to his or her career? How helpful was

this personality assessment? Insert one image of the career after this paragraph. Cite the source

can include an article from a career database and a chapter from a non-fiction book about the

career (or any combination—two articles or two chapters). Write a topic sentence for this

paragraph that explains the main idea of the chapter/article. Then, introduce the source (include

the author and the title of the source). Summarize the source and analyze how this content is

beneficial to someone exploring this career. (Rinse and repeat for the other source for paragraph
