Assignment:

This is an opportunity to reflect on how an understanding of pathophysiology promotes safety and quality outcomes. Please respond to the following questions. The grading rubric (Appendix H) is copied in for your convenience.

1. Considering what you have learned in this course, reflect on your role as a nurse in preventing errors and promoting safety. How does your understanding of pathophysiologic concepts impact risk assessment, prioritization, potential complications, clinical deterioration, etc. Please choose a specific concern / challenge from your clinical practice as an example (for example, infections, falls, pressure wounds, etc.). What have you been doing well? How might you address any need for improvement?

2. Recalling the Well-Being Analysis assignment, reflect on your own limitations as a nurse. Please explore how a lack of self-care has the potential to impact patient safety. What have you been doing well in the realm of self-care? How might you address any need for improvement? Please be as specific as possible (without sharing information you prefer not to share).

Appendix H: Final Reflections

Students will reflect on changes in thinking addressing identified criteria. Please go to Module 10 for more guidance
