Assignment part 5. Professional Development Design:

Design a professional development program:

a. Based on what you wrote on part 4, write an introduction that synthesizes data, areas of concern, and teachers’ needs. Also write the content of your professional development: what will you teach and what will your teachers learn in the PD program? Include content knowledge (i.e. culturally responsive pedagogy, reading fluency) and skills such as use of specific teaching strategies, implementation of assessment methods, alignment of curriculum, etc.

b. Explain the method of Professional Development you would use and why (cite theory, from the standards for professional learning, or the articles and presentation on modules 2 and 3).

c. State the duration of the PD program (explain why),

d. State who would participate in designing and implementing the PD program with you F.

e. Explain how you will get “buy in” from the teachers

f. Describe how teachers will meet – how often, where

g. Describe the strategies you will use to monitor and support the professional learning.

h. Reflect on two obstacles that may arise in the implementation or design of this PD and explain strategies to address each of them.

i. Share a list of at least 3 links to sites where teachers can find technology tools for instruction and assessment of the topics identified as area/s of concern. Before each link there is a brief description of the site.
