Financial or Economic Goal
Promoting medication adherence goal
Promoting adherence to medication in the hospital is the financial goal which the hospital should focus on. Promoting medication within the facility will help in improving the quality of healthcare services (Bahouth, Blum & Simone, 2013). This is one of the financial goals which will help the facility to achieve its goals. The goal can be achieved through community health care professionals who are mandated to make follow-ups of how patients partake their medications. In doing so, the hospital will be able to accomplish its mission of improving the quality of healthcare for the locals.
The outcome of this goal will be measured by assessing how all patients receive treatment and the number of patients adhering to medications as prescribed by health professionals. Besides, data collection and analysis can be done to check how assigned healthcare professionals perform their roles towards achieving this goal.
For Steven’s District Hospital to achieve this goal, there are necessary steps for the objectives. Firstly, the facility must create public awareness of how to encourage medication adherence (Bahouth, Blum & Simone, 2013). Subsequently, providing appropriate medication to patients will an essential step for improving the quality of healthcare services. Finally, the assessment stage is another crucial process. In doing so, the hospital will be able to check whether it is possible to achieve the expected outcome.
Conclusively, to know whether the facility has achieved their goal of improving the quality of healthcare services, it is essential to measure the outcomes of the set goals. Getting feedbacks and comments from patients will be used to assess whether the objectives of the hospital of improving the quality of service was completed (Bahouth, Blum & Simone, 2013). Additionally, evaluating how patients respond to medications will also be used to measure if the goals of the facility were effective.
Legal or Regulatory Goal
Compliance requirement goal
For Steven's District Hospital to improve the quality of healthcare services, the facility management must comply with quality standards. Just as other professional bodies, health sector also has regulatory agencies which oversee the operations of healthcare facilities (Kavaler & Spiegel, 2013). As such, for Steven's District Hospital to achieve this goal, the management must ensure that all activities are done in accordance to the healthcare regulatory body. Meeting compliance requirements of regulatory authorities will help in improving the quality of services offered by the facility. As a result, the facility will achieve its mission of improving the quality of healthcare services provided to patients.
The progress of the set goals will be measured by having supervisors in all departments to assess how healthcare professionals adhere to set standards (Kavaler & Spiegel, 2013). This should be done frequently to detect any deviation at the initial stage for an appropriate solution at early stages. Conversely, checking the strength of internal control systems will be done ensure that all healthcare professionals do their work appropriately.
For Steven's District Hospital to achieve this goal, there are crucial stages which must be involved in the implementation process. Primarily, the hospital should set internal control systems which will help in assessing adherence to regulatory requirements. Besides, the progress of the goals will be evaluated by evaluating the effectiveness of the internal control system.
Finally, assessing the effectiveness of internal control systems to comply with regulatory requirements is the best criterion to check if the goal has been completed (Kavaler & Spiegel, 2013). Also, measuring the flow of services delivery in all department could be used to measure if the goal has been completed. In case quality healthcare services are offered to patients effectively then it can be assumed that this goal is achieved.
Risk or Quality Management Goal
Reducing diseases outbreak goal
Improving the quality of healthcare services can be achieved only when appropriate measures are considered in place to reducing contaminations and diseases outbreak (Penner, 2014). The goal will be achieved by creating awareness on how to minimize diseases outbreak in a given area. In doing so, healthcare professionals should be engaged to take patients on ways of reducing the rate of contracting diseases.
The progress of the goals will be assessed by collecting data on the number of new patients. This should be done by engaging data collecting clerk who will research to know the number of new infection in an area (Penner, 2014). Similarly, the facility will measure the progress of gal by assessing how the public responds to ways of controlling the spreading of disease within a given region. In doing so, the facility will be able to improve healthcare quality to achieve their mission.
For this facility to achieve this goal, there is an essential step which Steven's District Hospital must follow during the implementation process. Creating awareness and teaching the public ways of reducing infection is a crucial step will be done (Youngberg, 2011). Consequently, checking how the public takes the advice of healthcare professionals is another critical step which should be considered. The process involves assessing if there are the rate of infections reducing as a result of awareness created to the public.
Lastly, the completeness of the goal will be measured if the number of new infections reduces. This will be done by conduction mass research in the area of jurisdiction to know whether the number of diseases has decreased. If the number of infections decreases then the goal was completed.
