Part 1:   Case Study Development

Design a case study scenario from which you will be able to write about the following elements:

· The sources of structural design for healthcare organizations

· The sources of power and authority and their distribution on the role of the leader

· The relationship between a healthcare organization’s governance, CEO, and executive leadership

· The impact of various group dynamics, both internal and external, as encountered in a healthcare setting

· Analysis of the value of mentorship and succession planning in healthcare leadership.

The case study must:

· Take place in a healthcare setting (name the setting, e.g. ABC Healthcare System)

· Include at least 1 identifiable issue of Major concern

· Include at least 3 identifiable issues of Minor concern

· Identification of your leadership role/position within the healthcare setting

Part 2:  Organizational Structure 

· Present an organizational chart for your case study.

·  

· Present the Mission, Vision, and Value statements for the organization in your case study.

Part 3 – Analysis

In a 6-8 page paper (this is a guide, I am more concerned about content), complete the following based on your case study, part 1.  Be creative, as you may not have all the facts needed in your case study to provide complete, quality responses.  Your responses should reflect critical thinking, sound ethical judgment, and be realistic. Demonstrate use of your defined leadership theory and model throughout your paper.  The paper should have a minimum of 3 references in addition to your textbooks.

· Include your case study, organizational chart, and mission, vision, value statements.

· Analyze the impact of the sources of the structural design for this healthcare organization.

· Analyze the source(s) of power and authority and their distribution on the role of the leader.

· Assess the relationship between the healthcare organization’s governance, CEO, and executive leadership. Develop a model to improve/maintain a positive relationship among these groups.

· Analyze the group dynamics, both the internal and external, within this healthcare setting. Develop a plan to improve/maintain the current situation.

· Describe the current plan of mentorship and succession planning for the healthcare leadership in your case study. Develop a model to improve/maintain the current situation.

· Part 4

· Prepare a PowerPoint presentation of this paper to submit here.
