Paper 1
To the US secretary of defense
In the last month of the year 2015, Pentagon directed that women in the military would carry out all combat roles such as being part of the first line in combat operations, joining and being part of the specialized military forces such as the navy seals, Marine Corps infantry, Green Beret, army rangers and the air force paratroopers (Szayna, Larson, O'Mahony, Robson, Schaefer, Matthews, Polich &Welser, 2016). Women would also be part of driving tanks and mortar firing in active combat. I am displeased by this move by the Pentagon and I am totally opposed to giving women active combat roles.
Reason number one is that women are the source of life and by putting women in the direct line of fire can be equated to killing humanity (Gaudion, 2016. As it stands, out of a possible a hundred military officers that go into active combat, ninety-nine of them die and only one lives, that one soldier has the ability to grow the human population should it be at risk however if women are allowed to participate in active combat the probability of population growth is immensely reduced.
Naturally, men are programmed to want to defend women and by having mixed gender combat operations their success rates may be reduced by the fact that the men will not concentrate on combat objectives as their attention might be divided; to ensure fellow women officers are safe and meeting the objectives of the mission (In Hunt & In Mills, 2012). This further place the security of the country at risk.
Covert operations can be easily jeopardized if a woman officer is captured in combat as opposed to a male officer. The incidence of a captured woman brings much more complication compared to when men are captured. The presence of female officers in active combat regions has the potential to create a dangerous mental change or shift for men in the combat zones due to the programming of men. As it stands, the physical structure of human bodies favors men to strenuous situations as compared to women. The physical structure of a woman’s body favors reproduction thus it is important that the carrier of life be further protected as opposed to exposing them to outright danger by allowing them to participate in active combat.
One of the opinion that women should not be allowed to participate in active combat not because they cannot but to protect the nations and worlds population growth. I request Pentagon to do away with the provision that allows women to participate in active combat.
