Parental Involvement in Education
Parental involvement is when a parent or guardian takes part in school activities or events and the learning process of their children with help from the teachers. The described proposal is about parental involvement in education. Education begins at home and thus, the parent or the guardian plays a critical role in the education of their child. The proposed topic is intriguing because it looks at how parents contribute to the education of their learners and sme of the barriers towards the education of their learners.
The issue of parental involvement raises a number of questions. For example; cultural and socioeconomic differences in parental involvement, language differences, staff attitudes, parent attittudes, and some of the causes of lack of parental involvement in education (Hornby & Blackwell, 2018). There are a lot of issues of concern when it comes to parental involvement in education. These issues affect how parental involvement takes place and how effective they might be. The research questions include; how do parent attitudes influence parental involvement? What is the influence of language difference in parental involvement?
In conclusion, parental involvement is basically about the role that parents take when it comes to the education of their learners. This means, checking their assignments and attending school meetings among other things. Parental involvement is something critical for a student. It ensures that the learner has a smooth learning experience with help, guidance and support from the teacher and the parent. Support from the parent is essential for the learner because it offers the learner with needed help in circumstances where the teacher cannot offer support or guidance. Also, parental involvement creates a bond between the parent and the learner.
