Case Study Part I

Public health refers to where society collectively contributes in various ways to provide and promote conditions that ensure the health of the community members. Public health is not the only mandate of public health providers such as doctors, nurses, and clinicians. Still, it is the joint effort that draws commitment of organizations in the community, agencies, and groups of people such as business and professionals and people at individual capacity such as parents (Seweryn et al.., 2019). Ideally, the provision of public health demands collective action to improve people's social, environmental, spiritual, and economic well-being by all people who live in the community (Seweryn et al.,2019). This means public health will be improved when local public health is enhanced through the collective joint effort and commitment of different society contributors. To deliver and implement public health in society, MAPP was adopted to mobilize action through planning and partnership. MAPP advocates for a strategic planning framework that brings together various organizations, groups, and individuals in a collective effort to create and implement improved local public health.

MAPP makes provision for developing long-term strategies that seek to address underlying health issues that impact the community. The primary concern for MAPP is community involvement in the strategic planning and implementation of health improvement plans to ensure that public health is improved (Seweryn et al.., 2019). This helps to ensure that all parties and stakeholders contribute collectively to promoting local public health. When a community is involved in the health improvement plan and designing local public health systems, three things are likely to occur, promoting public health in the society. First, the organization takes ownership of public health and improvement plans; second, credibility and transparency to health improvement plans are enhanced, and lastly, improvement plans and efforts are sustainable. MAPP process goes through six phases. However, in this assignment, three steps are analyzed.

Phase 1: Organizing for Success

This is an integral part of the MAPP process, which lays the foundation for implementing a community-based and broad-wide local public health improvement plan. In this phase, individuals will be involved in the process, and strategies will be developed to create formidable partnerships (Farahani et al.…, 2018). In organizing for success, it is essential to critically seek to understand the importance of undertaking the MAPP process. For example, it could be established to improve public health; community public health planning is required, which would form the basis for involvement and partnership with the community in the strategic health planning process.

Second, creating a design for the planning process is another factor considered in phase 1. This helps determine components of the process and results used to establish desired outcomes, such as improved community health status. Third, resources and assets which are needed in the process must be determined in the organizing stage. For example, time, energy, data, and information that will need to be gathered and meeting spaces are some of the resources required in the process that lead teams should organize. Readiness assessments are a critical element to consider, considering whether all resources, features, and assets needed to begin the process are readily available. For example, it is essential to establish whether the core team and partners required in the process have been contacted and necessary recruits incorporated in the process.

Phase 2: Visioning

This is a necessary process that facilitates a collaborative approach towards developing a shared vision aligned to common values and issues in society. Typically, strategies and missions are always implemented to achieve an established image. It is the vision that precedes the implementation framework. When developing vision, it should focus on the goals and path in the MAPP. The MAPP creates a partnership and promotes community involvement to achieve the future (Farahani et al.…, 2018). For example, suppose the community's vision is to improve public health status in the community. In that case, MAPP brings together various groups, organizations, agencies, individuals, and the community to implement measures and policies to realize a shared vision.

Visioning is equivalent to an inspired shared vision, a leadership model that is advanced by Kouzes and Posner (2017). Inspired shared vision argues that mechanisms are created to involve others, take care of their ambitions and aspirations (Kouzes and Posner, 2017). Similarly, in the MAPP process, views of the community and other partners are factored which all partners collectively work to achieve a shared vision which they share in the quest to improve local public health. This reduces the barrier because exclusion is no longer evident, but all members feel included to promote public health.

Phase 3: Conducting Community Assessment

This is a critical process in MAPP, where four assessments are conducted to inform the entire process. These are multiple tools provided by MAPP which are used to analyze health issues through various lenses. Community themes and strengths assessment is a tool that is used to establish interests of the local community, concerns, and perceptions about the quality of life (Cassells, 2018; Farahani et al.…, 2018). For example, the local community could perceive that engaging in physical exercises would reduce the prevalence of chronic diseases and improve quality of life. Therefore, locals can use this tool to identify risk health factors and devise ways to manage such risks.

Community care system assessment is another essential tool used to investigate all organization entities and their contribution to community health (Cassells, 2018). For example, groups, business enterprises, healthcare providers, parents, agencies, and community groups would be explored to establish their contributions to public health and establish entities in society that need to do more to help improve public health. Forces of change assessment evaluate legislative, technology, and other changes beyond community and partnership control, which influence community health care. Lastly, community health status is another tool that considers behavioral risk factors, the prevalence rate of diseases, and their efficiency (Cassells, 2018; Farahani et al.…, 2018). For example, the mortality rate could be used to assess community health status.

Case Study Part II

Strategic planning is one of the fundamental business measures in the medical care area. Strategic planning alludes to an order that assists with giving medical services organizations with a sense of direction and core interest. Healthcare is an essential service. As the expenses of medical care and the degree of competition in the healthcare industry increase, vital arranging is one of the methodologies that empower medical services associations to expand their viable edge through compelling resource utilization. Many stakeholders in healthcare industries compete for limited resources. Healthcare facility administrators have a significant role to play in enhancing the effective utilization of resources (Fallon, 2013). Improvement of healthcare delivery is one of the objectives of many healthcare facilities and Healthy People 2020. Contemporary societies are confronted with numerous catastrophes for example, the flare-up of pandemics and other common hazards such as accidents, floods, and earthquakes. Healthcare facilities assume a fundamental part in moderating the negative effects of cataclysmic events through convenient and compelling reaction procedures. Healthcare facilities aim to improve healthcare access.

MAPP refers to community-driven strategic planning tools in healthcare. The tool is deployed in the improvement of the community's health. The MAPP tools allow for improved decision-making and strategic thinking in organizations. This tool is not perceived as an assessment tool but rather an interactive process that encourages the achievement of organizational goals with a high level of efficiency while optimizing the performance of healthcare systems. There are four MAPP assessments that provide critical healthcare information insights; Community Health Status Assessment, Local Public Health System Assessment, community themes, and Forces of Change Assessment.

The promotion of collaboration among clinical professionals in healthcare is essential. The coordinated effort of clinical experts enhances the conveyance of healthcare and general patient care while overcoming risks and risks in healthcare practice. One of the methodologies that improve the collaboration of clinical professionals incorporates the creation of a safe place during data sharing. Culture safety in healthcare is essential. Clinical professionals must develop communication skills that enable them to interact well with each other and with other stakeholders in healthcare (Morley & Cashell, 2017). To accomplish cooperation among clinical experts, there is a need to create effective strategies to oversee and handle conflicts in a healthcare facility. Conflicts are common in healthcare practice but can be minimized with engaged leadership.

In some instances, the duties and responsibilities of clinical professionals overlap, resulting in conflicts. The process of conflict resolution must be addressed with a high level of equality and transparency. Clinical professionals can be enhanced through the development of teams. Teams allow for increased interactions while each professional can sense that their ideas are valued in the healthcare facility even as being channeled to the organizational executive through their respective teams. While in teams, clinical professionals feel a sense of belonging (Ross et al., 2018). Successful communication is fundamental to clinical healthcare collaboration. The flow of communication in healthcare facilities requires productivity to ensure clinical professionals receive information in a timely manner. Communication strategies should be based on clarity of communication, compassion, honesty, and respect.

In modern healthcare settings, clinical professionals play an essential role in reducing healthcare risks. In healthcare facilities, patients want to be assured of their safety and the safety of their information and data. Data is an essential component in the contemporary world of healthcare. However, there are various ethics associated with the use and sharing of patient data. Clinical professionals collect information from patients to improve the process of treatment and options. There are several approaches that can be implemented in healthcare facilities to improve patient care and safety. Some of the strategies include the application of monitoring technology, ensuring that patients have information about their treatment and medication procedures, as well as and verification of medical procedures. There are benefits of working together as a team as it can provide staff with practical approaches to deliver quality patient care.
