Method

Participants

<For our study, we had 16 participants, 13 female, 2 male, 1 nonbinary. Average age = 24.13 (SD = 7.34; 20-44).>

Materials

Experience. Experience was measured <you finish it>

Pre-test Belief. Pre-belief was measured with a 12-item scale (derived from <sources>; 1 = “this is definitely false” to 5 = “this is definitely true”). Six items were related to information that was covered in the belief manipulation, all having to do with pyramids’ preservative power (e.g., “A pyramid will dehydrate and mummify things, without decay or mold growing”; α = .84). Six additional items were related to information that was not covered, all having to do with the impact of pyramids on living things (e.g., “Standing under a pyramid for a minute helps athletes to perform better”; α = .94).

Pyramid Research. <Describe the pyramid research we presented.>

Post-test Belief. Post-belief was measured with the same 12-item scale, but with the items in a new random order. For material covered in the manipulation, α = <you finish it>

Procedure

<Describe the procedure starting at the beginning of the survey until debriefing.>

Results
