For the final paper, you will examine key concepts of leadership in your place of work, or in a social organization to which you may belong that has leadership concepts (Rotary club, athletic team, scout leader, etc). Include the following in your paper:

Using your place of work or in a social organization you belong to (remember, this needs to be about an organization you “know”, not a made up organization or one that you’ve researched please otherwise you can’t answer the questions!)

Your headings would appear as follows:

Organization and One Leadership Theory Applied

Here you are going to explain how the theory works (so define it, that’s one resource, for example the required textbook). Then include an example of that theory working in your chosen organization.

Effect of Power and Influence Leaders Have on Followers

Here you will explain how this effect of power and influence within your chosen organization has on followers. Identify if followers are receptive. Would you recommend another strategy? What is your reasoning? So if not, why not?

Traits and Characteristics of an Effective Team Leader

Within your chosen organization assess the traits and characteristics of an effective team leader.

How Leadership Supports the Vision, Mission & Strategy

Within your chosen organization explain how leadership supports these items

Changes I Would Make If I Were the Leader

So here, if you were the leader within your chosen organization what changes would you make? Explain the change and why. If you’re not going to make changes, why?

Ensure that you are including three scholarly sources, at least one from the Ashford Library (to identify what constitutes a scholarly source in the classroom click on: Course Policies/Student Responsibilities/Academic Research) PLUS the textbook.

Make sure you use the above APA section headings; don’t run several headings together please! Each heading needs to have a good, clear response. Make sure your references and citations are in proper APA formatting! Review the Announcement board for your links.

Page length (excluding title page and reference list) 8-10 double spaced pages. Please don’t quadruple spacing so only double spacing before and after headings, not quadruple spacing. I remove them anyway so just avoid this.
