1. At the top of the page, write your research question and hypothesis.
2. Create an annotated outline of your paper, which lays out a summary of the information you will present in your literature review. The outline must include, at minimum the following headings:
a. Introduction
b. Literature review**
c. Conclusion
4. All five of your scholarly sources must be cited in this outline, using APA style in-text citations, as all five are to be used in the literature review section of your paper.
5. See the example outline on the following page for reference. Please note, where the example indicates source, you should include the in-text citation for the source that can be referenced as well as a few sentences describing what will be discussed from your source in this location.
**NOTE: You must have at least three topic-specific subheadings within your literature review. This is a requirement because it helps with the organization and flow of the paper. If you are unsure what subheadings you should have, consider the fact that the literature review puts your topic into context so that the reader understands the purpose of your hypothetical study. Consider this question as you develop the outline: what do my readers need to know/understand for my hypothesis and research question to make sense to them?
