LACMA
I went to Los Angeles Country Museum of Art. LACMA is Masterpieces of
European art works, contemporary avant-garde art, treasures of the all-encompassing
arts of the United States of America and Latin America, Islamic most admired works of
art, collections of North Korean art masterpieces, and delectable pieces of Japanese art
Pavilion floor pavilion. Los Angeles County Museum of Art in possession of more than
100,000 piece of art masterpiece, is Chicago's western region's largest encyclopedic
museum, including almost every age and culture, a large number of precious works of
art, is the West's largest encyclopedia of art museum . The gallery also features special
exhibitions, film shows, music shows and educational events. It became a very popular
museum for people to visit.
Located in Los Angeles, the famous Miracle Mile was founded in 1961. The
largest art museum in the western part of the United States covers art collections from
all the major civilizations of all continents from ancient to present times. The only one to
be found is Islamic art. When I first walk in there, I didn’t noticed it was that big. The
external wasn’t that modern, but inside, I think the internal was quite modern, but the art
pieces fits the internal. When I entered the lobby, I actually didn’t know which way
should I go. There’s several ways to go, the art pieces which made by the same artist
were in the same room, so when you visit you can see all the collections the museum
have by the same artist. I walked the left side, there’s art works that were created long
time ago, which I mean not modern, and then I keeping going, I saw more art works and
sculptures. Everyone were very quiet and enjoyed. I think most people spends at least 5
minutes on one art work that they interested. After that, I saw one full room of art works
by Picasso. It’s hard to understand his painting just by looking at it. There’s introductions
about each pieces next to the art work. That makes the painting and sculptures more
understandable. After that, I went to upstairs, this is full of art works which related to
religions and old European art works. Which are quite smaller what I saw in Italy before.
After that, I went to another building which full of modern art work. Which was more
understandable. There were big pieces which with introductions next to it. After all, we
went to see the very famous art work, which is urban lights by Chris Burden( United
States, Boston). Created in 2008. A lot of people were taking photos under the lights.
As an encyclopedic museum, its contents are not very rich and sophisticated,
looks like a missing a lot of detail but the general outline of the painting. The whole
museum consists of several separate buildings, deepening this piecemeal.
Collection: The focus is still on the art parts of Europe and North America. Lack
of many important painter's works, such as a van Gogh did not, and many of its
important painter's work and the lack of representation. Generally speaking, there are
too few "treasures in town". Notable is the Dutch classical works, the German
Department of modern rich works of art and craft movement in the United States of
America's furniture decoration collections delightful, the Mexican modernist painter
Diego Rivera works several pieces, the Belgian surrealist painter René Magritte works
Only for the region (and both are masterpieces). The Japanese pavilion, which is built
separately, is famous (possession of Fujita Siji works), very interior design but consume
a lot of space, so its more abundant collections often need to rotate display. Few of the
Chinese and South Korean collections have been crowded into the Hammer Building.
There is a landscape with Boats (1996), created by Roy Lichtenstein in his late years
under the influence of Degas and Chinese landscape paintings. The Broad
Contemporary Art Museum is donated by the Broad couple, often holding some
contemporary art exhibitions.
My favorite art piece is Under the Wave off Kanazawa ( The Great Wave). This is
a work by Japanese artist Ukiyoshi Kitaharu (living in the early 19th century Western
calendar). Shock waves lifted the fishing boat, the heroic boatmen who are living with
the thrilling and intense struggle for nature, from afar is Mount Fuji, showing a turbulent,
intense atmosphere.Japan's Ukiyo-e is to enter Europe through the tea trade, from the
mid-19th century, Europe imported tea from Japan. At that time, Japanese tea wrapping
paper usually printed ukiyo-e prints, Japan's ukiyo-e began to enter the westerner's
perspective, its unique and groundbreaking painting style also began to influence
impressionist painters at the time."Kanagawa Surfing" has great influence on western oil
painting art. After impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh inspired the painting, he
created The Starry Night; Debussy, the French classical impressionist composer,
inspired the painting to create symphonic symphony The poem "The Sea" (La Mer).
My second favorite are piece is the urban light. Which is a large scale sculpture
by Chris Burden.
I think LACMA is a museum that a combine with modern and ancient art works,
which I think this is the best about this place, you could learn and see art works from
different period. How people from different period thinks of art and how they presents
and show of it.
