Paper #2 Worksheet

This worksheet is designed to help you get started on Paper #2. You may ultimately change your codes and/or the ethical theories you originally use on this worksheet but keep in mind feedback will be provided based on this this submission and should be taken into consideration even if you change components later.

1. Describe your future career objective. If you want to own a business, please describe the type of business.

I want to have open my own business which is hotel industry. Generally speaking, it is a place for guests to rest and eat. To be specific, a hotel is an organization that provides services to guests through the sale of rooms, catering and comprehensive service facilities with its buildings as the proof to obtain economic benefits. The hotel mainly provides guests with accommodation services, living services and facilities (pre-bedtime services), catering, games, entertainment, shopping, business center, banquet and conference facilities.

2. Create and briefly explain the code of conduct you are creating for yourself in this future career or the code of conduct for the company you intend to own and run (should be approx. 5-10 codes with a brief explanation):

1. Smile: always smile and greet guests and colleagues. Smiling makes your guests feel friendly, makes your colleagues feel friendly and helps to form good interpersonal relationships.

2. Cooperation: cooperation is the basis of efficient work, is the hotel operation to the success of the necessary conditions. Good cooperation will promote the establishment of honest, cheerful and equal relationship among employees, promote each employee to think diligently and have a sense of responsibility, get fun in the process of helping others, and improve their own cultivation.

3. Responsibility: to have a sense of responsibility. Familiar with the department and understand the operation of each department, service content, seriously and responsibly answer the customer's questions, do not push the customer to another department unnecessarily. Regardless of position, give full play to your talents and talents, will work to perfection.

4. Trust: to be an honest person, so that your guests and colleagues can trust and rely on

5. Politeness: being gentle and polite is not only a requirement for work, but also to see that it will make your life full of joy forever.

3. Which ethical theory categories do the codes in #2 above fall into (please discuss 3)? Remember you do not have to relate every code to every ethical theory you chose. However, you should relate/apply each code to at least one of these ethical theories listed in a, b and c below so that at the end of the paper, you have applied each code to at least one ethical theory once. You may pick from:

Hedonism

Desire Satisfaction Theory

Divine Command Theory

Natural Law Theory

Ethical Egoism

(NOT Psychological Egoism)

Consequentialism or

Utilitarianism

Kantian Ethics

Virtue Ethics

Social Contract Theory

Ethical Relativism (can include

Cultural Relativism)

a. 1st Ethical Theory:_______desire satisfaction theory_________________________

i. Which specific code(s) does this relate to? List the code # here:___Smile________

ii. Briefly discuss how this theory relates to one or more of your codes in #2 above:

In the hotel service industry, the connotation of the smile service is not only a kind of gentle facial expression, but on behalf of the service staff are willing to diagram guests at any time to maintain a communication, warm to meet the needs of others special courtesy

b. 2nd Ethical Theory: ______hedonism____________________________

i. Which specific code(s) does this relate to? List the code # here:_politeness________

ii. Briefly discuss how this theory relates to one or more of your codes in #2 above:

It is on the basis of the understanding of the occupation, consciously from the dribs and drabs of work to find fun, cultivate their own feelings for the hotel occupation, and take pride in this occupation.

c. 3rd Ethical Theory: ______ Social Contract Theory ___________________________

i. Which specific code(s) does this relate to? List the code # here: __Cooperation_______

ii. Briefly discuss how this theory relates to one or more of your codes in #2 above:

The contractual relationship is an ideal society built between people. It requires employees to properly solve and overcome the contradictions and difficulties encountered in the work, handle the interpersonal relationship between the top and bottom, inside and outside, and insist on providing customers with satisfactory quality service, which requires employees to have a strong will.

you still need to connect Trust and Responsibility to an ethical theory. Perhaps both of them also connect to Social Contract Theory along with Cooperation. OR you could pick either Desire Satisfaction or Hedonism (do smile and politeness in that section) and add Kantian Ethics for Trust and Responsibility.

Overall you will need to work harder to connect theory to the codes. Think about the core of the definition of each ethical theory you are applying and then ask yourself what about that relates to the code you are connecting? You can also try to use hypothetical examples to demonstrate how following a certain code accepts the theory.
