Literature Review
The modern markets are becoming more and more vibrant, and this is forcing the enterprises to look out for more new business opportunities that will enhance their agility and competitiveness. In an attempt to improve the business agility, the organizations often tend to focus on making an enhancement in the response times to the customers, quality of the products, efficiency of production, and services among other areas (Hoseini, 2012). The information technology infrastructure in any organization tends to automate the business processes of the organization. Among the most advanced information technology systems is the enterprise resource planning (ERP) that helps the organizations to improve their competitiveness. The enterprise resource planning also aids in adapting the best management and industry practices for offering the right product and at the right time, as well as at the right place.
An enterprise resource planning has been defined as an enterprise application that tends to integrate all the business functions or departments into a single piece of software application (Rajesh, 2010). The system application makes it easier for the organizations to track their workflow across all the departments. It also reduces the operational costs incurred in the manual tracking and also duplication of data by using individual and disparate systems. According to Adrian-Cosmin (2015), unintegrated systems users have a tendency of spending heavily and endlessly repeating same tasks – that is, introducing same data in different systems/programs. The problems that can be identified with this phenomenon include wastage of time due to the rewriting of same data, they have high probabilities of being entered incorrectly, they may appear different as program differs, and there is also the possibility that the data will be inconsistent. As such, it becomes apparent that the integrated nature of the enterprise resource planning systems solves all these problems. The system allows the organizations to define their own settings, and offers a variable number of modules as per the requirements of the individual organizations.

According to Murray (2016), the EBS can be managed or controlled from a single site. This is for the 12th version of the application that is an internet Internet enabled application. It follows that an organization has the ability to operate, as in other ERP products, a single database with a single data centre. The EBS version 12 was released in the year 2007, and it comprises of various product lines that the users can implement. Just like the earlier versions, the key functions include the enterprise resource planning, the supply chain management and the supply chain management. The following are the applications found in the Oracle EBS:

· Oracle HRM applications
· Oracle logistics
· Oracle order management
· Oracle supply chain applications
· Oracle warehouse management system

It has been established that the company’s ERP product comes second to the SAP in terms of sales. It is also the company’s best breed solution that has been implemented by very many companies globally. The applications in the EBS tend to cover a wide range of business processes in any company. Oracle also supplies industry-specific solutions that tend to easily reduce time, as well as the resources required in the implementation of the system. Proposal
This action research will focus on researching the Oracle’s enterprise resource planning in its integration in the e-business suite. The research will entail outlining its features and its applicability, as well as its effectiveness and efficiency in delivering value to the users. The researcher will engage the various users of these systems to analyse the various uses and the nature of its application. The e-business suite will also be compared with some few rivals to benchmark it. The action research will entail four iterations as outlined herein. Comment by Dr. Anand Singh: ??????
Iteration 1: Research objectives. The first iteration will entail establishing the goals and objectives of the research. It will also outline the course of action to be taken during the research, as well as the participants in the research.
Iteration 2: Insight into the EBS and ERP. The second iteration will entail the researcher gaining more insight into the e-business suite and the ERP systems. This means the researcher will conduct research on the EBS. The researcher will collect data from various sources that will include the Oracle’s databases, websites, and also interact with the company’s personnel to observe and learn about the applications.
Iteration 4: Data analysis and reporting. The last iteration will entail analysing the data collected pertaining to the user experiences and also about other ERP systems in the market. After analysis, research report will be prepared and presentations made.
