Leadership Assessment 

There are three leadership approach/style assessment papers during the course and assigned in weeks 6, 7, and 8. Each week you will be choosing one leadership approach/style and a corresponding assessment.  For example, if you choose to assess the Skills Approach in chapter three, you would also use the Skills Inventory” assessment found on page 67 of the hard copy text.  Each assignment should include a discussion and analysis of one leadership approach/style and the related completed assessment found at the end of each chapter.  You will choose the three assessment(s)/concept(s) you want to report on .  Each of the week's assessment papers  should follow the format as described below:

Provide the name of the assessment as listed in the text.

Subject of assessment    [Not included in word count]

Describe the subject who took the assessment.  Most of them should be taken by yourself, but there are occasions where you may ask a supervisor co-worker, family or friend to complete an assessment and discuss their results.

Related Leadership Approach/Style Description   [Limit this section to 150 words or less]

Describe the concept(s) related to the assessment that is being completed.  

Assessment Results and Analysis

Describe the results of the assessment. There is usually an interpretation at the end of the assessment that can be used to report results.  Discuss these results including what was expected, what was surprising, what was revealed. Remember that the assessments you perform for yourself should be accurate, unless you have not been completely candid and honest when completing the assessment. 

Application of Assessment

Discuss how the results of the assessment are apparent in your leadership style or the leadership style of others.  Describe how the concept is used or not used and what observation could be made about the leader being assessed in relation to the related approaches/styles. 

Action Plan

Describe the improvement you can make in your leadership style related to the assessment or recommend improvement in the subject leaders.   Be specific and use actionable language. Use bullet points when appropriate to explain exactly what actions you need to take and then back those up with paragraphs regarding "how" you will execute your action plans.

NOTE:  Review the rubric to see how the points will be allocated to each section of your paper.  Make sure to allocate content accordingly.

Format

· 12-point Arial type

· One-inch margins all the way around

· 1 1/2 or double line spacing

· Use of headers as presented in the assignment description

· In-text citations for paraphrasing from the book should be in this format:  (Northouse, 2019).  Do not use any direct quotations for this assignment.  If you paraphrase from the book, add a reference at the end of your paper in APA format for the Leadership text by Northouse. Citations are not required.

· Your name must be at the top of the first page, no title page is needed

· File should be:  “last name_Week 6_Assessment”

· Total paper should be 1000-1200 words not including headers or first two sections

· Submit using a WORD document file

Note:  In order to completely and thoroughly answer each section, your writing will need to be concise and full of depth.  Don't waste any words or sentences on filler, etc.
