Essay Topic Proposal
List your chosen topic here.
Compare how the authors of “The Red Fox Fur Coat” and “Blood” use animals to comment on a specific aspect of human nature of your choice (i.e. greed, the need to be accepted) or human systems(i.e. capitalism). Be sure to name the human characteristic in your thesis as well as identify whether the two authors approach the subject similarly or differently.
Write your working thesis here. Make sure it is formulated as a specific argument and answers the question(s) posed to you in the prompt. (For Topic 1, identify the point(s) of comparison and your general approach.)
Authors Evitimova and Gersao take ordinary people with everyday lives and show their struggle in society. Even though they take different approaches, they both show their characters’ desire to have and be something more than they are at present. These characters are lacking in two aspects of human nature. They struggle with identity and the need to be accepted. One character is unable to resist her urges for a different life; she is desiring animalistic freedom, while the other character is more drawn to seeking approval from others, even if it literally means losing himself completely.
Now consider how you will structure your argument. Think in regards to “sections” not paragraphs. This should not be a five paragraph essay. Write headings in the boxes below for the sections of your essay. (You might not need all of them.)
