Evaluation of DOJ’s Ethics, Cooperation, and Leadership
Introduction
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is liable for law enforcement and protecting U.S. interests. The agency is also responsible for defending citizens from external and internal threats (Podgor, 2003). As a general rule, organizations are responsible for combating crime prevention and fair punishment of perpetrators. One of my professional responsibilities as a consultant is to provide a detailed analysis and assessment of U.S. Department of Justice ethics, collaboration, leadership, and legal decisions. I am also responsible for monitoring the agency’s weaknesses and suggesting areas where the agency needs to improve. Several interviews with U.S. Department of Justice representatives were conducted and compiled a U.S. Department of Justice analysis report was to implement the improvements. Vice President of Accounts and Customer Support, and other senior U.S. Department of Justice officials.
Current event
After analyzing a few recent happenings over the last two years, there is a focus on leadership accountability and ethical implications for stakeholders, organizations, and the general public related to the issues described in the current events. Authorities have concluded that they are not fulfilling their responsibility to maintain law enforcement. An institution from the use of excessive force in the conquest of civilians. This is the opposite of the judicial system, as officers are guided by the ethics defined by the Ministry of Justice. The problem of police atrocities is rising. This conclusion was based on current events and factors: Police atrocities in unarmed minority citizens have cost lives. Racism and systematic racism of law enforcement officers who wear badges and abuse their authority. Citizens believe that law enforcement agencies are not fulfilling their professional obligations to protect and serve them. These are the main issues that can impede the further development of government agencies. As people respond to these unfair and inhumane law enforcement measures, the U.S. Department of Justice no longer addresses these issues. For example, in George Floyd’s Trial case (DOJ, 2021), H.R. (Human Resources) needs to better select candidates for executive positions.
Primary leadership style of the organization
The Attorney General heads the United States Department of Justice. In this case, the Attorney General is the Chief of the Ministry of Justice. The institution’s leadership style is democratic, as several factors influence the Attorney General’s decision. The Attorney General usually does not make general decisions within an organization. Influential figures include political leaders and security agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the CIA. Because U.S. security accounts are astounding, leadership styles help bring ideas from others.
Leadership influence
When assessing U.S. Department of Justice leadership in light of leadership models and the political background run by government agencies, at least three internal and political leaders have influenced government agencies’ success and failure. There is a way. The following factors and perceptions that internal agencies and political leaders have contributed/contributed to the success of the U.S. Department of Justice: Institutions have existed for centuries and have helped establish public order and morals in maintaining the structure of the judiciary. Based on this conclusion, it is clear that the judicial system influences the activities of the Ministry of Justice. The U.S. Department of Justice has succeeded in lowering crime rates across the country as law enforcement has reduced crime. Overall, for centuries, the agency has fulfilled its obligations to protect and serve civilians and U.S. citizens and has supported the U.S. Constitution’s enforcement under the guidance of the head of the state. Each department of government has fulfilled its professional responsibility to assist citizens in distress and need. Government agencies usually need to be influenced by several social factors (Clayton, 2015). For example, the President mentioned in the Executive Order influences the Attorney General’s decision. When it comes to legality, agencies work in tandem with the judicial system. Law enforcement officers are also involved.
Legal decision
After considering the U.S. Department of Justice’s mission to enforce the regulations required to be complied with, it is evident that the U.S. Department of Justice is fulfilling its professional responsibilities in this area. Despite current issues with law enforcement overuse of force, arrests have resulted in injuries or deaths. Still, authorities have reduced crime, enforced the U.S. Constitution, and protected the population for decades in the country. I have fulfilled my mission to do. Authorities have often been criticized for racially motivated racial profiling, excessive power in minority arrests, and systematic racism, but the U.S. Department of Justice maintains public order. Without law enforcement, there would be no social structure, and crime would be the highest ever. The following factors are examples of the authority of an agency to enforce the regulations that are required to be complied with. The organizational structure of the institution has effectively implemented the Constitution since 1845. It can shape the social system for centuries. The U.S. Department of Justice has succeeded in reducing crime rates across the country. The agency’s goal/mission has always been to protect and serve the people of this country. Despite the current challenges/incidents that the U.S. Department of Justice’s faces, they have fulfilled their professional responsibilities. The two or three issues facing the U.S. Department of Justice in enforcing government regulations are the use of undue force in the arrest and law enforcement of civilians. Systematic Racism: The institution has a history of racially motivated and inhumane acts against minority citizens, dating back to slavery and Jim Crow Law. Government staff are often accused of racially profiling minorities (Carter, 2016).
Strategy for the agency’s future addressing an ethical issue
An analysis of the agency’s future planning strategies for administrative ethics, leadership, and law to improve agency performance and service to critical recipients reveals the following factors that agencies need to identify: The agency must hold the employee responsible for the illegal activity. Use of force in suppressing suspects during the arrest. Government departments that help clients recruit more candidates with more experience, reduce racially motivated behavior towards citizens, and reduce racial profiling within institutions support this strategy.
Improvement the agency ought to make
Should consult the public. The consultation process helps create an appropriate environment between institutions and the general public to ensure safety. The consultation takes the form of a press conference, a local government meeting, or a public meeting asking the available public/people what the agency can do to improve the areas in which they are dissatisfied. It needs to be evaluated, taking into account constructive criticism from people. Officers must be responsible for their actions and abuse of their authority. If police officers kill unarmed civilians, they should be prosecuted in the same way as civilians for the killings of law enforcement officers.
Government agencies need to be aware of government agencies that cooperate openly and honestly with all services networks. Police headquarters and police officers regularly ignore work in public places and abuse their power with unnecessary force. We will act in a relentlessly mobilized position. This lack of accountability undermined the trust of the locals and increased suspicion and contempt. Develop and strengthen the ability of informed and responsible police to restore police credibility and ensure that police are accountable for their activities in the event of deviations from this standard.
Strategy to bring short-term effects
Building an accountable organization begins with implementing a policy that makes the service provider directly responsible. There are many ways to improve collaboration between institutions and communities. Civilian surveillance, both at the political level and at specific complaints and disciplinary action, creates direct accountability and gives police the opportunity to learn and build relationships with the people they serve. The U.S. Department of Justice must carry out compulsory psychological assessments on employers and government employees. Authorities need to expand training/academies to make police officers more prepared and knowledgeable in suppressing suspects. The U.S. Department of Justice requires compulsory annual civil service, leadership, humanities, and moral education courses/classes to learn how to serve citizens best. This strategy should be adopted as a blended approach as it would be more effective if all the policies discussed were enforced together. Psychological assessment is crucial, consideration of academic qualification is also vital. Just like any other profession, the officers have to ensure that they go through a continuum education. This will inform and remind them about the changes in moral ethics in their operations.
Conclusion
The U.S. Department of Justice plays a vital role in ensuring that citizens and governments are protected from external and internal threats. The agency also provides justice to the perpetrator through the court. As the Department of Justice is responsible for law enforcement, organizations face the ever-increasing problem of police atrocities. Problem-solving strategies must be democratic, as agencies use democratic leadership models and are influenced by political leaders and other sectors. The public should be encouraged to express their views on the role of government agencies. Short-term effective strategies include public observation and cooperation from various sectors. Law enforcement officers should always be accountable for their actions. This will ensure that they act accordingly. This will reduce cases of police brutality associated with excessive use of power.
