Summary
The concept of public policy has been described as the government's approaches with regards to the maintenance of law and order subject to addressing the citizens' requirements through undertaking actions that will enhance the delivery of results. The policy regarding climate change are policies developed with the view of addressing the issue of climate change. The climate change policies are developed with the fundamental objective of reducing the severe impacts associated with the concept of climate change while grabbing opportunities that are established a positive impact on the subject to the concept of climate change. In the recent past, the concept of climate change has been associated with many adverse climatic conditions, for instance, droughts, melting glaciers, floods, among others, that has necessitated the development of climate change policy to try and solve the problems arising from the rapidly changing climatic conditions (Bailey, 2020).
The purpose of the climate change policy is the reduction of emissions of greenhouse gas, for instance, the phasing out of fossil fuels through the replacement of renewable and more efficient low sources of carbon energy alongside changing the approaches for food production and land management. Therefore, the most significant concepts associated with the aspect of climate change policy is the stabilization of the concentrations of greenhouse gases at a level that is attributed not to cause dangerous interference with regards to the climate system (John R. Burch, 2016).
Various recommendations have been established with regards to solving the problems associated with climate change that include forgoing fossil fuels, upgrading infrastructure, moving closer to work to reduce transportation, stopping the cutting down of trees to reduce the effects of global warming. The polices on climate change also advocate for the adoption of renewable energies, implementing sustainable transport means, developing effective measures for waste management, for instance, recycling alongside having a circular economy (Bailey, 2015).
Climate Change Policy
The concept of climate change policy is best described as being the formulation of policies with regards to particularly tackling the aspect of climate change on a local, national, or global scale. The climate change policy has had considerable influence with regards to the reduction of emissions associated with greenhouse gasses. The climate change policy has had an influence on the development of mitigation analysis with regards to the evaluation of various mitigation scenarios enabling the understanding subject to their relative weaknesses and strengths. Through the development of mitigation policies through the concept of climate change policy, it has been possible to enhance the maximization of the benefits and the minimization of negative effects with regards to the concept of climate change. The perceptions associated with the concept of climate change are established to be changing across the globe, whereby different approaches have been enhanced with regards to the subject of policy design subject to climate change and the aspect of policy implementation. The concept of climate change mitigation is established to have various forms of co-impacts with regards to both positive and negative with regards to the concept of SDGs and sustainable development (Dessler, 2015).
The motives associated with the aspect of climate change policy can be demonstrated through the various policy responses that are put forward with regard to climate change. This includes the fact that human enhancement with regards to the aspect of global warming resulting in climate change has been established as a global problem. A majority of policy responses have significantly been led by the aspect of international negotiations, consequently being indecisive or qualified at the national level regardless of the strong international agreement. The fundamental motive of the climate change policy is the reduction of emissions of carbon dioxide. The motive of climate change policy has been demonstrated by a great emphasis on the application of the nuclear power which has significantly been acknowledged as being the single most effective means with regards to the limitation of the increasing levels of concentrations of greenhouse gasses while allowing the accessibility to abundant electricity (Bailey, 2015).
The impacts associated with climate change policy have been evident across the globe. Climate change policy has been associated with an impact on the aspect of competitiveness, which has been attributed to the increase of competitiveness across the globe in the long run through encouraging greater efficiency and innovation. Greater economic benefits are associated with low-carbon innovation in comparison to high-carbon innovation sectors. The energy costs that are established as being carbon-related are maintained low and relative with subject to other economic production costs. The climate change policy is also established to have social impacts with regards to the fact that the climate change policy is associated with various co-impacts that include positive impacts established as co-benefits and negative impacts that are established to be having negative social distribution outcomes subject to different countries across the globe. The policy regarding climate change are policies developed with the view of addressing the issue of climate change. The climate change policies are developed with the fundamental objective of reducing the severe impacts associated with the concept of climate change while grabbing opportunities that are established a positive impact on the subject to the concept of climate change. The climate change policy has had an influence on the development of mitigation analysis with regards to the evaluation of various mitigation scenarios enabling the understanding subject to their relative weaknesses and strengths. Thus, the most effective approach with regards to averting the severe effects of climate change on the adoption and implementation of a climate change policy should be undertaken (Dessler, 2015).
Climate Change Policy Stakeholders
The aspect of stakeholders can best be described as being individuals that might be affected or might cause an effect with regards to efforts to implement on a particular policy. Various stakeholders are involved in the climate change policy while they have different interests. The most significant stakeholders with subject to my policy include governmental bodies whereby with legally binding power, the governments have a mandate of enhancing priority with subject to the greater good. The civil society that comprises of non-governmental organizations, informal groups, and private citizens have considerably had an interest in the concept of climate change policy whereby the civil society has been established to be holding formidable power with regards to both moral conscience and reservoir innovation with regards to solutions that are awaiting trials, testing, and better development. The companies and the private sector are also having been established as the vehicles associated with driving the creation of economic value subject to society. Companies such as Coca-Cola have been at the forefront of fighting against pollution across the globe, consequently advocating for the implementation of climate change policy. On the other hand, individuals have been established to play a significant role in the subject to the concept of climate change and the advocacy for climate change policy implementation. This has been enhanced by promoting the concept of personal social responsibility with regard to climate change (John R. Burch, 2016).
The Political Influence of Stakeholders
The political influence of governmental bodies with regards to climate change policy is attributed to the fact that they have legally binding power; the governments have a mandate of enhancing priority with subject to the greater good. The fundamental motive is the creation of an enabling environment for all civilians while promoting health through the reduction of pollutions and emissions in the atmosphere. The governmental bodies have conflicts, especially with multinational corporations basing on the fact that different environmental laws are subject to change with regards to different countries. The impact of governmental bodies on climate change policy is established on the fact that the government engages in the research and development of programs that enhance the driving progress with subject to clean energy technologies with subject to bringing them to commercial use. Corporations, companies, and business organizations are also stakeholders involved in climate change policy, creating an impact through the development of programs that promote positive climate change policy outcomes. Their interrelationships have been evident based on the fact that some voluntary programs, for instance, Natural Gas STAR program, have been established to be working with businesses subject to the reduction of emissions, often done through public recognition (Bailey, 2020).
