Week 5-Scholarly Article Review of Integration

Thread: As you engage with the materials for Modules 5 and 6 (including Modules 1-4), find 1 scholarly article that addresses the integration of spirituality/theology and psychology in counseling. Briefly describe the article’s premise, research question(s), findings, etc., and give your reaction/response to the article. For example, if the article addresses spirituality in counseling someone with depression, are symptoms of depression (functional) related to the way the client views self, others, and the world (structural), and does this then affect relationships with God and others (relational)?

To find a scholarly article, go to the Jerry Falwell Library website. Make sure to sign in with your Liberty username so you can have full access to all the databases. Do some different searches such as “Psychology and Theology Counseling” or “Spirituality in Counseling.”

Choose an article, and report the findings or the conclusions the authors assert. Make sure to use the correct writing style format and include the full reference so your classmates can find the original article. In addition to the article that was chosen, include at least one additional citation from the Entwistle text.

Do not primarily focus on getting the relation “right,” but rather think critically about how mental health entwines in these areas.
