Re:Topic 10 DQ 1
In disseminating EBP and research, I would choose to present my results to, The Journal of School Nursing, which is the official journal of the National Association of school nurses, and the Texas School Nurse Administrators Association conference that is held yearly around the state. In choosing these organizations with people that share some common interest, knowledge, and can assist each other in valuable input and insight, as multiple perspectives and feedback always benefit your final product ( ). Professional networking can help nurses achieve the fundamental knowledge required to take the next step, in moving your project along ( ). New technology and medical advancements are developing at an ever increasing pace. And the scope of the nursing practice continues to expand. Given the nurse’s central role in patient care, maintaining current knowledge of trends and advancements is imperative, and when you network, and share findings with other in the field leading to better quality care ( ).
Sharing my findings with the Texas School Nurse Administrators Association, could provide me the resources to change legislation, by networking with other school administrators (TSNAA, 2016). Texas School Nurse Administrators Association is a professional organization for nurse administrators working in educational settings. TSNAA members collaborate to interpret law pertaining to school health, shape local school health policy, and ensure the provision of quality, safe nursing care to Texas’ school-aged children (TSNAA, 2016). In sharing my findings with The Journal of School Nursing, which is a peer-reviewed forum for improving the health of school children and the school community (NASN, 2017). The journal includes original research, research reviews, evidenced-based innovations in clinical practice or policy, and experts from medicine, public health, epidemiology, health services research, policy analysis, and education administration, which would also allow me to network with people interested in improving the lives of the youth we serve (NASN, 2017).
