Leadership is something every player, coach, athletic director, and administrator is needs in order to be an effective role model for every student athlete at every level. Leadership is an integral part in the success of any organization. It is considered both an art and science which motivates people to act towards achieving a common goal. The concept of leadership is a fascinating topic that explains the role and qualities of a leader, especially in bringing success to any organization.

Leadership is about influencing people to achieve organizational goals and improve performance. The concept of leadership has advanced over many decades as organizations and nations move away from authoritative leadership to more of charismatic and engaging leaders. These changes include the influence of leadership, even as management changes. Leaders currently work with teams, set direction, develop an inspiring vision and motivate any team into being innovative.
