Oral communication is essential to your academic and professional success, particularly when preparing a presentation. Whether formal or informal, an oral communication skill set entails the use of verbal and nonverbal cues allowing you, the speaker, to express thoughts and ideas in a manner that effectively conveys your message. Your oral communication skills should evidence the use of a clear tone and enunciation, concise verbiage, incorporation of nonverbal signals—all of which convey the message and represent your confidence in knowledge of a topic.
