I. There are many benefits that can be obtained from receiving a post-graduate degree.
II. Amazingly, over a million people entered graduate programs in the United States last year.
III. I am currently researching possible graduate programs and plan to submit my application for admission this fall.

V. The three benefits of attending graduate school that will be discussed today are to increase salaries, better job opportunities and advanced field knowledge.

I. Those who hold advanced degrees have the advantage when competing for jobs at research facilities, academic institutions, high technology companies, and jobs that require state licensing.
A. The 2001 Kaplan Newsweek’s Graduate School Admission Advisor book states that people who directly treat or counsel, such as social workers, psychologists and therapists, generally need graduate education to meet national and state licensing requirements.

B. Having an advanced degree makes a major difference in a career’s financial worth.
