Your essay outline must follow the following format:

Plot summary
Time period stories written
Thesis
· A clear thesis: with a claim comparing two short stories (focus should be on theme) AND three literary devices. (supporting topics/evidences)
· 1st story + 2nd story, main theme that they have in common and then 3 literary devices that they have in common based on the quotes in both stories: 1st literary device, 2nd literary device, and the 3rd literary device.
The common theme between these two stories are persistent and or the idea of not giving up that each main character have toward their main goal.

b. First sub point (first story)
i. Evidence: which is the direct quote from first short story that relates to first literary device
ii. Analyze this quote, explaining how this will connect to the thesis
c. Second sub point (second story)
i. Evidence which is direct quote from second short story that relates to first literary device
ii. Brief summary of how you will analysis this quote, explaining how this will compare this to story and how you will connect to the thesis

Conclusion
Conclude the essay—Provide a connection to a universal theme that is significant, a “so what?” statement, or an epiphany “Aha!” moment.
