What lies beyond the observable universe?

Our solar system is part of a massive galaxy, as we all know. We also know that there are between 100

and 200 billion galaxies within "near proximity" to the planet. The observable universe is what scientists

refer to it as.

But what is there beyond what can be seen?

Are there more galaxies out there, and do these galaxies go on forever? Or are these galaxies part of a

single universe that, in turn, is a component of a larger set of universes? This raises the question of

whether this universe is all there is or if we are part of a multiverse.
