Philosophy
As a professional educator and constructivist, I believe that children learn best when they are in a safe and nurturing environment that promotes social and educational development. I believe that students are by nature interested and excited leaners, and learn best when they experience their atmosphere through hands-on activity. If I teach students using real-life as well as hands-on experiences, it will not only keep the students engaged but also give them opportunity to be able to develop knowledge. A loving atmosphere combined with educational knowledge and patience will promote a stimulating but challenging learning setting, enabling the students to develop trust amongst each other and become comfortable with me s well we others. Providing guidance for character development will promote physical and mental well-being. Students will understand and know that they are able to have their own beliefs, and find their own answers from questions. A structured, clear defined, daily objective that encourages exercise, educational activities, social skills, and physical development will assist in the development of gross and fine motor skills in each student. I will be the facilitator while the students educate themselves. The students will learn by doing and not by lecture. Students will be able to discover lessons on their own because it is the most effective and true way of learning. Parent involvement will assure a loving, supportive, and caring atmosphere and will enhance the balance between home and school giving the student a sense of security while being in a home away from home.
