Self-Reflective Journal Grading Rubric

Students will write a self-reflective journal including the following:

1. Describe in detail the activities/tasks/accomplishments that occurred over the past weeks in your clinical placement.

My group was placed at 2 locations Pope Francis, Detroit where we provided foot care such as washing/cleaning of the feet; applied lotion and if the individual had a medical concern or need we would have them referred to a physician. We also provided clothing (underwear, t-shirts, and socks); we gave amenities (tooth brush/toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, Vaseline, bags, etc. and McAuley Health in Detroit we did our windshield survey of the surrounding area and recorded what we saw in a one mile radius. We had to get different prices of food and compare to where we lived and there was a vast difference in price ranges for both food and medication, however mainly medication. I had to do CVS in Dearborn my area as compared to Detroit CVS (on Conor and Gratiot) as seen in the picture below price differences and in food ; as well as helped Dr. Groh making up a Community Health Brochure for mental health awareness that will be presented in November a conference at 2nd Ebenezer in November.

Picture below is from Pope Francis upstairs where we provided foot care (cleaning feet only such as scrubbing them down taking old skin off and giving a pair of brand new socks, (we never cut the toe nails; educating regarding diabetic foot care or any other concerns they had at the end we would apply lotion)
