7.5 Q3 What responsibility do you have to point out the need for correction in a document when the author or team leader outranks you at work?

Weather the author outranks me at the workplace does not matter it is my responsibility to identify the mistakes and correct the document to ensure that it meet the required conditions before its published.

Does it make a difference if you anticipate they will take the feedback negatively?

Even with the prediction that they will take the feedback negatively does not make a difference because the main aim of pinpointing the mistake is to improve the quality of the document and not the reaction from the authors.

How do you reconcile these concerns with your responsibility to the organization?

The best way of reconciling is by discussing the pinpointed mistakes and explain the importance of making changes. Through the explanation the importance of correcting errors to the organization has to be explained well. Additionally, it is important to explain that the performed work is not based on individual feeling but the responsibility given by the organization.
