Hacking

Malware is present in many sites, and they affect the systems in which they are bestowed. The malware spreads, especially to the people who frequently visit

torrenting sites. This poses a risk to the file-sharers as their security is compromised, and they are possibly to experience unwanted requirements by hackers of sys- tems. New Mac ransomware has been reported to be making rounds on the various torrent sites that have posed a potential threat to the file-sharers. This ransom- ware has its origin in Russia through a forum, and it disguises itself as an installer for a real app known as Little Snitch. This is an installer that is attractively and pro- fessionally packaged, which makes it appear to be legitimate. This makes it easier for torrent users to get fooled and fall for it. The users of shared networks use Little Snitch to allow or block access to monitor networks, which is critical for their data security. The malware installs Little Snitch and fails when an attempt to launch the app is carried out. The malware is distractive as the effects and damages it does to the computer systems lead to the loss of files. The malware encrypts settings and keychain files that deny access to the users. The malware manipulates the users to pay ransom in exchange for their data; this does not guarantee the owners of in- formation security that their information has not been disclosed or that they will get access to their data in time. This can be prevented by scanning the system with antivirus software that can detect and remove the problem when it is encountered.
