The given quality of care is of very great essence within any given organization that deals with health care. Being an employee of a nursing home, the abuse of
the elderly is, in most times considered to be seen as a form of concern in most of the facilities of healthcare that are known to be classified as long term all over the United States. Maltreatment of the aged in most cases refers to an individual who is elderly getting mistreated by other people, including the members of the family and their providers of health care that might be attending to them. Abuse is classified to be in a position of being provided in forms that are different; it can be
physical, emotional, neglect, financial, psychological, in addition to its being sexual. It is an issue of disturbance when there is news regarding our population's mis- treatment that is mainly elder within the community. Apart from multiple attempts to have the abuse of the ageing ceased, it is still taking place. Much additional re- search is required concerning the elders' misuse to determine solutions based on evidence regarding this given issue. Qualitative Research Annotated Bibliography

Within this particular article, one Bern-Klug and Sabri are known to examine the extent to which the social departments for in-house with the nursing homes end up training their staff concerning the abuse of the elderly and the resident's rights. The article also comprises an in-depth analysis concerning the main problem of the neglect of the senior taking place in nursing homes. Similarly, it gives an elaboration that is well defined by the given expectation following the given stipulations con- sidered the Federal Regulations Code. This study's focus is the actual level of involvement within the training of the abuse of the elderly individuals of the depart-
ments of social services. This study was carried out specifically on the nursing homes believed to have employed a director for social services. During the carry-
ing out of the course, there were two questions only that got to be asked. The first question was to determine to what extent the department of the social ser-
vices was involved in the training of in-service on the resident's rights. Moreover, how one is in a position of identifying different available types of abuse. The
question that was studied to be the second was one that was meant to determine the given extent to which the given director of the social services provided training that is advised to be one-on-one concerning the maltreatment of the elderly to a new colleague. I had worked for a nursing home when I was in high school. I wit- nessed aged patients getting physically harmed by staff. I reported to my manager at that time, and he did not do anything about it. This research tends to underscore the importance of training the nursing home staff to prevent the abuse of elderly individuals. This study has its limitations that are deemed evident. During the re- search that was carried out, the only available respondent was only one person who is the social department director. Similarly, no data was gathered from other de- partments that are different from having a comparison done, such as from the nursing department among other departments. It is also evident and apparent that in- formation concerning the content or the training's quality is missing. Besides, there needs additional research to deal with the problem associated with the abuse of the senior within nursing homes. With my final research, I should be able to develop training that would help directors and the staff. Qualitative Research Annotated Bibliography

org.ezp.waldenulibrary.org/10.1037/a0040259 Roberto is known to have done a discussion about the complexities associated with the abuse of elderly individuals. The violence starts from a lack that is glaring of a uniform definition of what constitutes the mistreatment of the elder individuals into comparing the findings of a body that is growing of literature on the maltreat of aging persons. The same article addresses the complexities within the risk factors that are to the abuse of the elderly, the perpetrators of the cruelty of the elder individuals and the strategies for the interventions for the individuals who are believed to be the victims of the ex- ploitation of older persons. This article is a reference source that is good about what has been carried out regarding the definition of the abuse of the elder individuals, identification of the factors of risk, and pointing out the interventions that are already in existence.

However, this same article also has its limitations: it does not contribute to any new knowledge into the study of elder individuals' violence. This is because it is known to be more of a compilation that comprises previous research works concerning older adults' abuse. Additionally, the analysis is to highlight the challenges and com- plexities that are about the exploitation of the elderly. The findings of this analysis will develop the foundation of my future study about abuse of elders. This re-
search is a reference known to be good for the researcher regarding the studies that have already been done earlier. Therefore, it is necessary to have additional re- search carried out on a specific subject. Because the given interventions that are said to be in place are not recognized as effective and efficient; similarly, the cases re- lated to the mistreating of the aged are still believed to be increasing. (2017). Preventing elder abuse and neglect in geriatric institutions: Solutions from nursing care providers. Geriatric Nursing, 38(5), 385-392.
Doi:10.1016/j.gerinurse.2016.12.016 Wangmo, Nordstrom, and Kressig, during their study, their primary focus is on understanding the main reason why there is the occurrence of the maltreat of the senior within the homes of nursing. They found out that various factors that tend to have a great contribution and lead to abuse, in addition, to neglect mainly include; a ratio that is low in between the staffs, the patients, and care levels that are measured to be insufficient to be inappropriate, the dissatisfaction of their nursing jobs, a rate of turnover of staff that is considerably high in addition to lack of education continuation. To have the problem of the ma- nipulation of the elderly individuals addressed appropriately, they presented solutions that are reflected practical, including ones that comprise providing training and education that is appropriate, management of facilities that is enhanced, and interventions that are timely to recent neglect in addition to mishandling of the old. This research is designed to have been carried out by using exploratory qualitative interviews. It had a sample of staff members of nursing that are twenty-three in number. Furthermore, the finished interviews were carried out by a post-doctoral scholar who has training in qualitative methods. Among the interviews,
nineteen of them took place at the participant's workplace while the four that had remained the interview took place at the research institution. The interview had a length that roughly ranged from twenty minutes up to a hundred and seven minutes. Additionally, it covered questions that were said to be about attitudes while
working for, along with the patients that are considered to be older, knowledge for the abuse of the elderly, the main reason as to why they felt it took place, as well as their solution to achieve care that is of high quality for the older patients. This given study is mainly used because it is said to identify some of the various factors that tend to lead to older individuals' abuse. The different solutions that are primarily provided include a starting point that is considered useful in addressing the scourge concerning aging's mishandle. In general, this given study provides findings that are immensely valuable that a given researcher can build on for additional re-
search and search for a solution based on evidence regarding the mistreatment of the elderly. The study's limitations lie in the size of the utilized sample taken during the research study. A sample size that comprises only twenty-three participants is practically too small of scope for it to be used in generalizing every setting of care. This is because the results will only be about one setting in addition to it not being capable of providing results that are substantial in a large region. I am interested in preventing a stop of elder abuse. Reading this article should help me get more explanation for my research and other sources. I would be able to come with more positive solutions of how to prevent abuse of elders. Quantitative Research Annotated Bibliography

family, friends, and neighbors in the lives of elder mistreatment victims. The Gerontologist, 00, 1-5. Doi:10.1093/geront/gnw257 While the research concerning
the mistreatment of elderly persons is considered to gain additional momentum at a high rate, the effects of it on the individuals concerned are supposed to be re- searched out appropriately and in-depth. The maltreatment of the elderly is growing as the population of the baby boomer goes on aging. Therefore, an affected group that is separate from the concerned individuals will also end up increasing. The authors made an effort to determine what tends to affect the knowledge
of the abuse of the ageing individuals has on the persons concerned and the numerical figure of the individuals who offered help along with the distress levels for those who provided help to the given victim versus those who did not do anything.

The research was carried out through a phone survey of individuals who are qualified to be selected randomly. As it is hypothesized, the specific study found out
that the concerned persons were assisted and eventually found themselves encountering levels of distress that are higher than those who did not do anything. This given article is seemingly seen to be addressing the fellow researchers and makers of a policy emphasizing the necessity for additional research and the requirement for the formation of services for support to the persons concerned. This specific source is in a position of being of great essence in presenting that the mistreatment or abuse of the mature does not affect only the victims alone but also the most involved parties. This is thought a social problem that is very real that is supposed to be challenged. Mixed Research Annotated Bibliography

Mosqueda, L., Hirst, S., & Sabatino, C. P. (2016). Strengthening elder safety and security. Generations, 40(4), 79. While the mistreatment of the elderly and
abuse is known to be gaining a lot of publicity and making headways within the public's policy, the challenge is still enhancing. This specific article tends to examine the given means through which the branches of legislative and executive are in a position of taking the initiative to reduce the violence being faced by this population that is thought to be vulnerable. This article tends to tackle subcategories that are several to the mistreatment or abuse of the elderly individuals; its main focus
is on the financial exploitation because the federal government is responsible directly for regulating commerce and business all over the lines of the state. They sug- gest executive actions, like having research prioritized, encouraging data reporting from the network of financial crimes enforcement, and creating an Elder Justice office within the White House. Likewise, institutions that are award specified and make speeches that are deemed public concerning this epidemic of abuse. The legis- lative branch is principally encouraged to make sure that there is adequate funding for the laws in place to create success for the rules that are considered to be fo- cused on the financial exploitation and the general subcategories concerning the misuse of the senior beings. The general suggestions are of concern that is
sound and being made to encourage the federal government's continuation of eliminating and addressing this horrifying epidemic of abuse. The article proves that society is still not near eliminating mistreatment and the neglect of elderly persons within the population. Elder safety and security are crucial to me because I have my grandfather cared for at a nursing home. I was able to do community service there to see how they were taking care of the elders. I came up with ideas that would help the facility. This research would me understand the way that I can be able to senior people. Mixed Research Annotated Bibliography
Pillemer, K., Connolyy, M., Breckman, R., Spreng, N., & Lachs, M. S. (2015). Elder mistreatment: Priorities for consideration by the white house conference on
aging. The Gerontologist, 55(2), 320-327. 10.1093/geront/gnu180 The research and the available studies indicate that the mistreatment of the elderly is a public health issue that is spread widely. This given article is believed not be a presentation of topics that are key within the treatment and prevention while providing initiatives that are possible that are supposed to be taken on aging by the conference of the White House. The significant areas comprise research, creation of policies, and ser- vices to minimize the mistreatment of the elderly. The authors primarily encourage the necessary promotion of funding required for research, professional
training, and services for the victims involved. This given article shows that the exploitation of the aging is an issue that is multifaceted and has domains that are physical, emotional, financial, protective, and social; therefore, the research range in addition to services is measured compulsory to continue expanding. The
audience that is intended in this research is the federal government and the conference of the White House on Aging. This is said only to back up theories whereby, unless they are addressed appropriately, the mistreatment of the elderly individuals will end up becoming a social epidemic that is spread widely. I would apply this information and paired with a more recent study on elder mistreatment to see if I can develop more solutions. Conclusion
There is a need for strongly emphasizing on having the abuse of the elderly people stopped and eliminated, not due to the fact that is contrary to the law in addition to being wrong, but because each single American is supposed to take a personal interest since in general, every individual hope to become an elder. Therefore, the probability of becoming elders and having high possibilities of getting harmed is nothing to look forward to as a person. There is a need for having statues that are stronger in place to deter this type of abuse and mistreatment.

Furthermore, there is a need for more assertive fines and punishments issued to the facilities that fail to make reports concerning these manipulations. The golden years are considered one of America's dreams; however, being a victim of abuse automatically is not part of the American dream. On the contrary, it ends up becom- ing a nightmare.
