Defense in Depth Annotated Bibliography

Security architecture based on defense in depth Mavroeidakos, T., (2016, April)for Cloud Computing environment. 2016 IEEE The Confer- ence on Computer Communications Workshops (INFOCOM WKSHPS) (pp. 334-339). IEEE.

The authors of this article are of the views that security architecture is very important when it becomes to the protection of organizational data. However, it is apparent from the article that some organizations do not take into considerations some of the factors that they have to consider when implementing security architecture in their organization. The authors’ advice to organizations is to ensure that they provide the best security framework to help them evade the security threats that are posed by cyber criminals. This article is imperative to the study as it will provide signifi- cant information that is required to help organizations plan for their security architectures. Neumann, W. C., Corby, T. E., & Epps, G. A. (2008). U.S. Patent No. 7,428,754. Washington, DC: U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The authors of this article provide an in-depth analysis of the security threats that compromise the function ability of different computing domains. It is very clear from the article and the authors that different organizations face different issues in matters security and it is because of this that or- ganizations have to strive to ensure that their security that safeguard their information is secure. The authors of the article re of the views that pro- tection of information is very important when it becomes to organizations more so in healthcare. Radvanovsky, R. S., & McDougall, A. (2018). Critical infrastructure: homeland security and emergency preparedness. CRC Press.

In this book, Radvanovsky and McDougall (2018) took their time to conduct an in-depth analysis of the preparedness of Homeland agency on deal- ing with attacks on critical infrastructures both in the public and in industrial perspective. The authors use different cases to convey their message as they argue that much has been done by Homeland agency to prepare itself to deal with attack or emergencies that affect critical infrastructures. The authors concluded their book by recommending that the Department of Homeland security should enhance their emergency preparedness to deal with attacks and emergencies that may affect the operation of major critical infrastructures that may compromise the security of the entire na- tion. However, the findings of this study contradicted the findings of a study that was done by Limba et al (2014). Limba provided empirical evidence that supports the assumption that Homeland security is fully prepared to deal with security issues that will today of in the future affect the organiza- tion and other organizations critical infrastructures.

Stergiopoulos,G.,Vasilellis,E.,Lykou,G.,Kotzanikolaou,P.,&Gritzalis,D.(2016,March).The Classification and comparison of critical infrastructure protec- tion tools. In the International Conference on Critical Infrastructure Protection (pp. 239-255). Springer, Cham.

The authors of this study are of the views that there are several commercial tools that have been developed to protect the critical infrastructure of any organization. However, the commercial tools that have been implemented are not the same in relation to performance and effectiveness. It is because of the difference in the effectiveness of the tools that the authors are recommending the parents to continue advocate for several layers of paint as one way of passing time. In this article, Stergiopoulos, G., Vasilellis, E., Lykou, G., Kotzanikolaou, P., & Gritzalis, D. (2016, March) focused their study on explaining the different tools that are available through classification and comparing one to the other. From the classification and compari- son of the available tools, it is very clear to the parents that they have to look at the book before buying. Understanding the classification and the workability of each tool gives the buyer enough time to make a decision on which tool to choose for its security infrastructures.

Maglaras, L. A., Kim, K. H., Janicke, H., Ferrag, M. A., Rallis, S., Fragkou, P.... & Cruz, T. J. (2018). Cybersecurity of critical infrastructures. ICT Express, 4(1), 42-45.

Maglaras et al (2018) are of the views that cybersecurity is a very important thing to maintain especially in this era when cyber-attacks are wide- spread. The authors are of the views that most of the organizations in the information technology industry that have benefited rather are successful have a strong cybersecurity framework for their critical infrastructures. The authors argue that any organization with a strong cyber security frame- work will be able to protect its critical infrastructures from security breaches which may cost the company a huge amount of money.

Critical infrastructures in the information technology companies should be given utmost priority when it comes to issuing cyber security because of their significance in organizational operations. It is because of this that the authors of the study are of the views that information technology compa- nies such as Advanced Micro-Device should have a comprehensive and effective security framework for its critical infrastructures.

Alcaraz, C., & Zeadally, S. (2015). The Critical infrastructure protection: The Requirements and challenges for the 21st century. The In- ternational journal of critical infrastructure protection, 8, 53-66.

The authors of this article are of the views that the information technology industry is very important is the operations of other industries today in the United States. However, the major problem according to the authors is how to protect the critical infrastructures that are used to run the com- panies. In this study, Alcaraz and Zeadally (2015) provide an overview of the tools that are required by information technology companies to develop a well-structured security platform for the company to protect its critical infrastructures. Similarly, the authors explain several challenges that infor- mation technology industry face in protecting the sector’s critical infrastructures. The findings of the study indicate that organizations face several challenges in securing their critical infrastructures and it is a recommendation from the experts that the preservation of the alcohol should be done accurately.

Limba, T., Plėta, T., Agafonov, K., & Damkus, M. (2019). Cybersecurity management model for critical infrastructure.

The authors of this study who are known scholars because of their proficiency in information security issues focused on developing a framework that organizations can use to enhance the security of their cyber-systems and critical infrastructures. The authors in this study are of the views that organizations need to develop security measures that are sufficient in relation to the protection of their critical infrastructures. The authors after conducting intensive research focused on describing and explaining a specific model cyber security management framework is explained in this arti- cle by the authors and recommendations based on evidence to adopt the model are provided. The authors based on their findings to implement
