Certain leadership behaviors improve and sustain performance at the individual, group, and organizational level :

Understanding organizational performance as the manageable process that integrates a set of components for the realization and operation of the company or projects, among them we have the human talent, the structure, the business environment and the expected results in the organization. To the extent that the leader (either from the project, the company or its different dependencies) can provide the necessary conditions, indications and incentives for the project members, these components or dependencies will be able to maintain the level of performance and even improve it. . For this, a constant evaluation of the organization and operation processes and protocols is necessary. In a general sense, the productivity of the world is a function of the productivity of each of the world's economies; the economies, in turn, are as productive as the organizations within them. Within the organization, individual workers performing specific jobs form the base level for all productive endeavor. In modern, complex organizations, however, the linkage between individual productivity and the productivity of organizational systems becomes blurred. For a variety of reasons, the linkages are seldom one to one. Only by understanding the individual level of productivity, however, can practitioners and researchers begin to build the theories and models that deal with the dysfunctions and synergies that occur when individuals are grouped into work teams, departments, organizational systems, and economies. (John, 2019)

Two types of innovation and their definition of these concepts and offer an example of both :

1. Process innovation :Process innovation has been the adaptation and improvement of an existing process in order to increase effectiveness, carry out the process in less time, obtaining the same or better result. Example : In this case we can reference the Henry Ford assembly line that revolutionized the automotive industry as we know it and even being a reference and model for other industries.

2. Product innovation: Product innovation would come from improving a product, either by adding new functionality to it, by improving its performance with other materials, by making it more accessible to the public or simply creating a new product that performs the same function as another but in a different way. more efficient and comfortable. Example : In this case we could name the use of smartphone cameras as bar readers, QR codes or even as a text scanner. This is not A primary functionality they were created with but it is AN another very useful approach on many occasions for users.

Week 2: Organization Performance, Innovations

1. The responsibility of IT staff has increased over past few decades and not only is an organization expected to be a high-performance, but also offer change and innovation leadership, communicate and interact with competitive firms to deliver low cost services or products. The organizations staff is expected to be very responsive to the rapid changes. Numerous leadership courses have been reduced generously in light of cost-control activities. When offered, most IT initiative projects limit participation to managers. Not many associations have extended an extensive program of leadership improvement that incorporates different activities other than training. Leadership development is not as simple as sending accounted people for training course and in fact, it’s the least followed road in the aspect of building a leader. It is often said that a leader rises above all under any circumstances and better leaders are created when organizations have a process that is widely understood.

Leadership development must be set early in the program to showcase value and trust. Trust is gained by setting expectations and meet the deliverables or by exceeding the expectations. By sending clear messages to staff and displaying uplifting mentalities about staff conduct, senior leaders will assist individuals with feeling they can start to face a few challenges and activities in their work.

2. Product Innovation: The development of a new product or an improvement of an existing product or adding a feature that meets the need of a customer. Any design that resulted greater demand of a product that improves ease in manufacturing and increase life cycle. For example, improving the battery life of a drone and making it durable and cost-effective that attracts customers which in turn increases demand for the product.

Process Innovation: Process is the combination of ability, skill and technologies used to develop and support a product or give services to it. There are multiple ways to improve the process innovation and is likely the most provocative type of development. The process innovation/design decision helps define processing costs and processing time to offer timely deliveries. The moving assembly line to assemble cars or any goods of that matter is a good example for process innovation, which helps in reducing processing time in a derived manner and offer timely deliverables.
