The partnership between the business at Hefty Hardware and IT is totally inept. Various shortcomings are faced in both the Business and IT sectors, such as; poor communication between the department of IT and the business, lack of skills in time management, and the retail sector has corporate disconnection (Chan et al. 2018). Therefore, it shows that the department of IT has its operations on its own technical world thus it has a little relationship to the business.

The challenges for attaining effective communication include the changing nature of the IT work, frequency and nature of communication, attitude and the structures of the business organization. The business tries to use the multimedia and information to improve the experience of the experience in a number of ways and making it consistent in each of the stores (Chan et al. 2018). Time management skill is considered as a critical part in the life cycle of a project. For a business project to be successful, it has to consider miles stones as they are very important as they measure the effectiveness of the ongoing plans. The method is effective in the IT projects as they involve data from various sources. Sometimes the data can be written in languages which are older and the new programs cannot read them at all becoming a barrier (Shanafelt et al. 2017). In addition, it is essential for a company to have an IT quality assurance.

The disconnection between the retail level and the corporate level is not good for the future of the business or the IT department. For day-to-day business activities practices to be influenced positively the architects of IT needs to understand how the organization runs and also the processes involved (Miner et al. 2015). Strategic planning is crucial when achieving the goals of a business.

One of the ways in which the delivery of the Savvy Store program can be a success is through the training of staff in Hefty Hardware with communication skill set of top level. It involves connecting with the given business staff with much understanding in terms which are less technical such as methods in Translation (Aarons et al. 2016). Translation refers to the ability to explain the IT initiatives which has effect on the business or the deliver value.

Tailoring is also a way of connecting with the business staff which involves the IT staff adopting their given type of communication according to the needs of their given audience. Also, transparency creates more understanding thus makes the delivery of the Savvy Store program a simple task (Miner et al. 2015). This is through the business understanding what is being done in the department of IT and its cost.

Talking, thinking and listening are important communication skills which are realty valued by organizations as it helps the business to “think out of the box”. For the Savvy Store program foundation to be constructed an IT architect head should be involved and also a few architects in the junior level in the business meetings which will provide the architectures with the information needed for the construction to be a success (Shanafelt et al. 2017). The architects should meet frequently, at least once a week, to discuss the progress of the task at hand. Also, hiring a company which specializes in internal and external communication will help improve communication.

It is important for a business to have a quality analyst team for the department of IT. A quality assurance team benefits the business’s IT department in a number of ways. For example, the quality assurance team ensures that the program is fully functional before the users have to use it (Shanafelt et al. 2015). Also, the team can measure the project’s milestone requirements whereby the team makes sure that the Savvy Store program is meeting the milestones and also the requirements.

Improving the IT and business communication, the delivery of Savvy Store program by Hefty Hardware can be successful. It can be achieved through a number of ways such as, making the effective communication importance visible whereby the executives can do so by carrying out performance appraisals for the new program, Savvy Store program (Ruben et al. 2017). Also, working the Human Resource department helps develop new skills roles and expectation. The issues addressed when new expectations for the roles are kept in the Human Resource department requirement data base of the employee (Aarons et al. 2016). When new expectations are developed, all new hires will have the IT skills needed by the department. Both formal and informal communication skills can be achieved by providing top level training to the IT staff. It involves increasing the frequency and nature of the communication and also spending more time and attention on the communication which act as the last step to achieving the goal of setting up the Savvy Store and running it.

Also, meetings can be set internally with the IT department. Meetings help discuss the progress of the department and also what challenges experienced. Therefore, strategies are developed to cope with the challenges before it is too late making it difficult to handle these challenges (Shanafelt et al. 2015). Lastly, the meetings must also be set up externally with the business department on a weekly basis. Having a weekly meeting help the department understand and know each other.
