Organizational Feedback

Organizational Feedback

  • The benefits of effective feedback

One of the main benefits of the feedback session is that it allows the consultant and the client time to discuss data and the analysis of the data in order to prevent any surprises. This is generally why two feedback meetings occur. The consultant and the contractor usually meet first. The client may bring a few others to this meeting, but it is mainly a courtesy meeting to discuss findings and allow the client an opportunity to discuss the information. In some cases, the consultant may have to assist the client in how the information might be distributed or conveyed to the organization. This could also assist in reducing the amount of resistance that might be presented if the process is not handled with care. This is important because there could be recommendations that could affect a reduction in force or other types of cutbacks, etc. The first meeting directly with the client to discuss the feedback is significant because it will ultimately be the client who will decide what to do with the feedback.

  • Methods and steps for providing effective feedback

After the data analysis phase, the feedback phase normally allows the consultant organization the ability to discuss the findings with the client and develop a verbal presentation. The verbal presentation is then provided to the organization, and a written report is also provided, which contains two sections. One section basically describes the overall situation, and the second section outlines the specific steps that should be considered in order to implement the deliverables. The consultant and the organization discuss and attempt to agree on goals and objectives for the organization on the basis of the feedback provided. Once the feedback has been provided and discussed with the client, a formal presentation containing an analysis of the problem, an analysis of how the problem is being managed, and recommendations will be developed to present the information to those members of the organization who the client thinks are key stakeholders.
