Conflict Management
The organizational structure has constraints that might be hindering effective business operations such as decision-making. One, the firm has not been able to foster a culture that creates synergy between the business functions. For instance, it has been highlighted that there have been disagreements between the product and department managers when it comes to the overall decision-making process. There needs to be a structure that promotes collective performance between departments, work teams, and the managerial level in a manner that promotes diversity in decision-making (Dana, 2001). Two, the employees are given a chance in the process of decision-making. The organization still clings to the original design and structure where employees are closely followed and monitored which is in most times demotivating to the workers. Lack of involving the employees negatively impacts the diversity in the process of decision-making (Dana, 2001). Finally, there is no structure that encourages quick decision-making as direct managers must consult with senior managers for approval a process that takes a minimum of 48 hours. Specific individuals need to be given authority and final say when it comes to decision-making in order to make it quick and effective.
Nojax can improve the process of decision-making in line with the seven-step decision-making process. One way of doing so entails gathering relevant information and facts. This is the point at which the inputs of employees and other parties need to be considered. Doing will enable two major benefits. It will improve diversity in entire process and will motivate the workers as their inputs and viewpoints are taken into account (Dana, 2001). Two, the firm needs to focus more on weighing the alternatives. It entails considering all options in a way that enables the organization to reach the best decisions. When these two are focused on, the organization will be able to make decision more effectively.
When it comes to conflict management, there are major techniques of negotiations that can be utilized in order to attain effective outcomes. One, it is important for the people to be separated from the problem (Kourdi, 2015). This involves being objective rather than subjective when dealing with the conflict. When doing so none of the conflicting parties feel cornered hence the parties will be willing to each an amicable solution. Two, it is imperative that more options are generated. This process should also focus on creation of a neutral ground where each party will give up a portion of its interests (Kourdi, 2015). Three, the process should focus on the interests of the parties hence a solution created should be able to meet part of them if not whole.
On the other hand, in addressing conflicts, there are a number of steps that Nojax can utilize in addressing conflicts between parties and individuals. First, perceptions of the conflicting parties need to be clarified before a solution can be focused on. That will help understand the interests and character of the conflicting parties. Second, one needs to take an active and empathetic role which will lead to in-depth understanding of the issues as well as their causes that might be contributing to the conflicts. Finally, the whole process needs to create win-win situation for the parties. Creating such a situation make the parties feel satisfied hence none will feel cornered. It is imperative to note that during the entire process, one needs to take a neutral position and avoid biasness.
