Chapter 74 relates to nursing professional associations. An important factor in developing a philosophy that embodies the work of ANPs as it relates to policy development is education. Earning an advanced degree increases the efforts to better position ourselves with others who know what they are talking about. By joining professional nursing organizations, such as the American Nurses Association, ANPs can find current and relevant data about nurse-patient ratio and how it affects the patient and the families. Joining professional nursing associations can also help ANPs find like-minded nurses who can unite with in this quest.
