1. Discuss your chosen business idea, product, or service for Amazon and why you think it will be successful in the marketplace in the face of global competition.
The business opportunity that I would engage in would be the sale of toys and games. The platform Amazon has gained its popularity due to the sale of authentic and credible products, and hence the majority of the parents trust this site. Evidently, the sale of toys and games is at its best from the statistics that Amazon provides on their platform ("Amazon.com Best Sellers: The most popular items on Amazon," 2017). Due to the much competition in the industry, branding and advertising would be necessary for a bid to ensure that my goods are better known to the potential customers' way before they purchase the product.
2. What is the key differentiating factor between the current marketplace and your proposed business development opportunity?
It is important to note that the current marketplace is filled with many products that the buyers do not know of their existence. Regarding a sale of a product, advertising is a key element that ensures the success of the product that is on sale (Buil, De Chernatony, & Martinez 2013). The key differentiating factor is the marketing strategy that I intend to use that the others competitors have not yet considered as an option. Toys and games are mainly used by the young generation, and hence it would be wise to communicate to them so as they can pressure their parents to purchase them. Therefore, I plan on making my products known to the children in schools where I can have a large audience and not incur many costs as opposed to advertising in the media. The cost that I may incur may be the free samples for testing, and this is likely to stimulate the other children to buy.
