Being a big company, to comply with the local laws, the state’s the federal and international laws, the company has to be in guideline with the code of ethics it formulated and a profound ethics consultant to help implement these codes and eradicate issues that are unethical and that’s where I come in helping the company achieve its set goals and objectives. Being an ethics consultant with over several years of experience in the business industry, I will help acquire new targets for the company homogeneously without losing the trust and reliability the company had built on its customers and the community at large. (Golnam A, Ritala P, and Wegmann A. (2014).
In conducting their daily duties, employees may fail to comply with the rules and regulations governing them in their work areas arising to issues in the company such as delayed orders or mix ups in packages degrading the company’s ability to offer quality service to the customers. There may be also conflict of interests existing between the company and the employees where the employee’s personal interests collide with the Amazon’s best interest and when they fail to notify any their officials to decide on the proper action to undertake, they cause clashes. There are also some instances employees are harassed and discriminated against and they have no one to complain to in fear of losing their jobs while other employees make agreements with competitors in regard to prices of the commodities, discounts allowed and the channels the company uses to reach the market leading the company to incur massive losses. All these cases need to be looked into and hiring private ethics consultants is not only expensive but the time they involve in the company may not identify all these problems that may lead to serious dents in the company finances or its overall impression to the community. Hence the work of the hired consultant to stop all these cases and advocate for the company in case of severe ethics cases.
My Experience in the Industry
With over several years of experience in the business industry, my corporate background includes starting as a Human Resources Officer at a local company in my home area, moved to Human Capital Solutions Services in Kenya where I served as a Human Resource manager, A Global Director, Human Resources in Living Goods company Kenya and as a private ethics consultant at Volvo company where I helped make the work place a model for other institutions to look up to. I am certified in Business Ethics by McCallum Graduate School of Business and has worked with Loyola Marymount University a Centre for Business and Ethics. In the seven years I have gained experience and how to relate to the community via a company and my skills in corporate responsibility and misanthropy and engagement and communication will come in handy.
Proposal for the code of ethics
Given an opportunity to work for the company and having gone through your code of ethics, I will create a code of ethics that will patch up all left out areas that are a flaw to the company and maybe causing serious damages improving the company’s overall performance. The code of conduct will include: Trading policy that will remove the company from harm’s way from trading with persons whose material possession is not known to the public hence adhering to the federal law and state laws, code of ethics that will help the employees differentiate their personal interests and the company’s interests avoiding clashes and satisfying both party’s needs, a code of ethics that will give employees a voice against any forms of discrimination and harassment without fear of losing their jobs upholding fair treatments in the work area, a code of ethics that will monitor employees performance and avoid ghost workers. This will also monitor employee’s behavior and offer criteria for rewards and punishments aligning the employees to adhere to the rules governing them. A code of ethics that enforces against price fixing by the employees and preventing them from involving in any discussions with competitors to avoid inconsistences and ensure fair play and dominance in the market.
My philosophy on media ethics
Over the years, media ethics have come under close scrutiny leading to new perspectives of different problems in the society today. However, this media has allowed us to challenge ourselves through globalization, digitalization, journalistic practices and changes in everyday use of media. People violating these media ethics make people around them feel out casted or unequal and being a company that operates mainly through the media by use of websites to reach and deliver to the community, given an opportunity as an ethics consultant, I will make sure to implement truthfulness, accuracy, fairness, impartiality and independence in the company to provide an excellent base as the company launches itself into the public to show responsibility on how it uses its information. As to why I think am suited for the position of an ethics consultant in your company is that my skills and my background experience have all helped me in the application of my knowledge concerning ethics and helped identify ethical issues that can cause a major blow to the company and hence I will fit perfectly with your company.
