Development of mass media led to the emergence of content analysis. In the essay, the television drama series to analyse on is, “Big Little Lies”. It was created and written by David E Kelly. It involves the story of three troubled women in California who became embroiled in a murder investigation. Alexander Skarsgard, Laura Dern, Jeffrey Nordling, Adam Scott, Zoe Kravitz and James Tuer feature in supporting roles. The women are Reese Witherspoon as Madeline Martha, Nicole Kidman as Celeste Wright and Shailene Woodley as Jane Chapman. Above all the drama is all about gender bias.

It involves psychological damage caused by rape, domestic abuse, the burdens and blessings of motherhood, and the way women can be great boosters and worst enemies too. The first image seen at the beginning of the series shows some case of murder making every character look as if they are guilty. Most of the first people being interrogated by the police are women despite the fact that there are also men around. Women get blamed for everything. Renata and others hurt Anabella and shame Jane in the process because she is young, and a single mom and could not raise her child may be the way older mums in two-parent households could (Moriarty et. al. 2017).

The three women who are less quick to judge are Bonnie, Celeste, and Jane all of who, we eventually learn are connected by one thing; they are victims of rape. After Bonnie pushed Perry down the stairs it is claimed that it was an accident of which to some point it was. To be honest Bonnie is responsible for Perry’s death. A female detective refuses to accept the story offered by witnesses who are fellow women and were there when Perry fell. Perry had committed worse crimes than these women did and this detective has all the right to understand but she believes they are covering up for a black woman yet they are white because she ever did a favour for them. The detective can”t see because the society has blinded her to it. Yes, women taking care of each other instead of taking each other down. That is not how it is expected to be (Moriarty et. al. 2017).
