Kansas Department of Health further engages in programs to reduce risky sexual behaviors among the youth and all other age groups as well. Some of the activities include delayed initiation of sexual activities, increased use of condoms, and increase the abstinence levels among youths who are sexually experienced as well as reducing the number ofnew sexual partners. With these practices in use, the rate of infections of HIV and STIs reduces notably. Sexual interactions are reduced as well as having safe sexual practices among those who are initiated into the program. Abstinence enables individuals to stay away from sexually transmitted infections which contribute to reducing the number of available infections. Safe sexual practices, on the other hand, enable individuals to reduce their chances of contracting a Sexually Transmitted Infections. The program, therefore, enables one to reduce the risk of contracting an STI even when they engage in sexual activities.
