Evolution of Human

Nature can be used to describe the situation that is more of normality to a given case. In the case of human beings, their nature can not exactly be easily defined since human beings contain diverse preferences and choices. One of the reasons why it is hard to define the nature of human beings is because they have evolved through a number of stages and at times, it is not possible to define the stage of evolution a human being is in. Nature itself can be used as a standard for making judgments. Using nature as a judgmental object is a practice that started in Greek philosophy where the Middle Eastern and Western languages, as well as perspectives, were some of the highly influenced by the practice.

One of the practices included Aristotle’s teleological approach which dominated the late medieval and classical times (McClelland, 45). Under the teleological approach, the nature of human beings greatly leads them to become what they become which makes it exist without depending on each individual human being. As a result, therefore, it has been assumed that the approach shows quite a special connection existing between the nature of human beings and their divinity. Therefore, it tends to prove that it understands the nature of human beings in terms of formal and final causes. It can also be said that nature contains intentions as well as goals that happen to be similar to the intentions and goals of human beings, whereby one of the goals includes humans living naturally. Understanding human nature in a perspective like the teleological approach makes human nature appear as a form or rather an idea of a human being.

Existence of the teleological approach can, however, be termed as bringing along a metaphysical as well as an invariable nature of human beings, which makes it a matter of historical arguments, which continues even in the modern periods. Against the understanding of a fixed nature of human beings, the argument of a relatively malleable nature of man has been brought up by other philosophers as well as historians and scholars from other related fields of study (McClelland, 47). Recent centuries have seen even increased arguments against fixed human nature with modernists such as Rousseau and Thomas Hobbes among others. Rousseau, for instance, stated that there is no existing knowledge of what the nature of human beings permits them to be. Postmodernists, Marxists, and Structural theorists among other theorists have also been against the claim of having an innate or rather fixed human nature.

Darwin’s evolutionary theories provide the confirmation that the ancestors of mankind were not like the present generation of human beings. In addition, most current scientific views in determinism, chemical models in present day psychology and psychiatry and behaviorism take a neutral stand on human nature (McClelland, 49). Moreover, they give a minimum explanation to metaphysical causation. However, they can be counted as being able to provide insights into the nature of human origin as well as the underlying mechanisms. They also show diversity and change capacities that would otherwise disagree with the concept of a human nature that is fixed.

Human nature, therefore, can be said to be according to the law of cause and effect and that it is not predefined or fixed. According to Rauch, the cause and effect lead to the creation of an image connection, which in turn brings about a connection of occurrences (Rauch, 64). Connecting the occurrences in the human mind then gives them the choice of what they could consider as right or wrong to do. In a more specific statement, human beings are not tied to any choices but are made to make the choices they make mainly by their experiences. At times, human beings learn what is required of them from the society that they live in which translates to contact experience. Human beings adapt to the practices upheld in the society and tend to hold on to them. These practices end up making them who they are. In situations where some members of a society do not follow what is laid down, they are often considered as defiant. Things that can be referred to as the values of a human being are what he learns from the society. A man’s principles as well are instilled by the society he lives in. In a society that is dominated by crime, children are more likely to be attracted to crime than into avoiding criminal activities.

Being human therefore calls for having the same characteristic as other human beings. In the context of a normal society, being human means being able to be normal and uphold the characteristics that are portrayed by other people in the society (Rauch, 69). However, there is a neutral definition of being human that tends to apply to all human beings regardless of their society like being intelligent, compassionate, caring. A contradiction to these characteristics makes one naturally inhuman in the eyes of people from any society. Being human hence can be referred to as having the same characteristics as well as living according to the norms of the human society.

What is a zombie?

A zombie is defined as a dead organism that has been brought back to life without free will or speech by means of some supernatural powers such as witchcraft. The word is used in different context to mean differently in the distinct occasion. In this case, we will discuss how a zombie relates to the evolution of a human being from an Anthropology point of view. Zombies although are fiction and things that the recent generation only imagine about, have taken over the films, comics, and video games. They are a force of fear, which is slow, and result from an act of accident not evil (Murphy, 193). There are other creatures in this category such as the vampire and the werewolves, which are faster and more destructive. Despite the characteristics of the zombies, they have remained fascinating especially to the kids and teenagers. The movies about the zombies have been evolving and increasing the fan base that you find them in theaters.

When you find a case, where there are large numbers of the living organism start to dress up as the undead, in this situation it means that the culture is a true phenomenon. Although it might seem weird, a very important part of our lives feels that zombies matter since they orient us in the direction of future and civilization (Murphy, 194). The zombies show how easy it is for a small mistake in the laboratories to cause an outbreak in the form of zombies. They try to show the bad things that would happen just from a small mistake in the scientific labs. The zombies are creatures that are easy to destroy but their population continues to increase with every victory they get. They are already dead and even their actions are not of their free will. They are structured in a way that they can only be destroyed by a shot on their head. They have remained fascinating and have managed to become a very important phenomenon of science (Murphy, 196).

Analysis and Interpretation of Zombie from an Anthropological Perspective

The zombie films have a very funny way of communication by showing that the human culture and society evolves over the years. An example is Halloween, which is one of the most popular festive days in the United States where people celebrate the day of the living dead. In Halloween, you will find very many scary images and zombie-like icons, which are used to scare the kids. In the films, comic books, and books, you will see how human beings describe the force of fear. For instance, this is one of the best times to be alive where many nations are living peacefully. However, a small mistake would develop which would cause an international catastrophe that would live behind the survivors rebuilding the earth. They also show how different cultures come together to form a community because they are forced to work together to survive the disaster. A good example is the film ‘The Walking Dead’ showing the civilization importance of zombies in all cultural treatment.

Another good example is the film World War Z, which fulfills all the three levels of civilization. It shows how the nations will come together and keep hoping even as the worst happens. The most hopeful thing is to celebrate to be just alive. The movie represents what is to come in the society and we cannot even bare it (Vlahos, 60). It shows how the world, especially the United States, would face issues that would lead to extinction. If not they will then grow to something that has not been achieved. The two spots show us how decision and innovations that we strive to achieve have to side one that is a risk and the other is an evolution to great heights. The characters of the films are later used for the comic books and video game, which continue to make the zombies fascinating from one generation to another.

Zombie and Pop-Culture

The zombies have been used for many years in the entertainment industry to show how people are evolving over time. The zombies are developing or rather evolving into pop-culture. The evolution of the zombie and how according to the modern generation indicated started in 1963 as shown the film “The Night of the Living Dead”. In the movie, they living undead are not called the zombie but people called them the zombie and from then they are called zombies (Fredsti, 67). The culture continues and people nowadays have made the concept of the zombies’ part of their lives. The fact that the zombies have penetrated to everyday lives indicate that they have evolved into pop-culture. The fascination continues where the people have to use a zombie as an example of the worst that may happen even when they are urging their colleagues to tighten their security

The continue domination of the zombies over the vampire and other scary creatures shows how they continue to take over the pop-culture. The literature in the recent times has been using the zombies to represent a monster. The zombie saga is not a new concept but has been seen in historical work even the Bible where the dead comes back to life but it yet to satisfy out appetite. The films about the zombie have been in production for a very long time. Just when you think they are done they pop again even better. We are yet to see how far it will be in the popular culture (Barber, 11).
